some warder cuz im replaying dqb2 again
I FUCKING HATE WARWICK SO FREAKING MUCH. HE IMPRISONS MARLOTH, THEN HAS THE FUCKING AUDACITY TO BLAME ANESSA. THIS FUCKING ASSHOLE. I SWEAR. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I didn’t realize how (kind of) big the DQB2 fandom is on here so I thought I’d share with the class a little something I made. It took way longer than it should’ve and its really stupid.
i said it as a joke but like im getting really into warwick x haydin 🥴😳
MOONBROOKE SPOILERS under cut but also more of my warwick x haydin headcanons hehehehe
what's your thoughts on Anessa and Warwick's relationship. Like we know that they've known each other for a long time but i can't think of to many times f the top of my head where they actually interact
Hshdgjdbdjdgud I dont think i can explain it well but here it goes...!
Here's a bit I've talked about before on their parallelisms
I think they WANT to be close, like a friend you've known and trusted for years and years, but the war has never let them. Since they are both not honest, it's hard for them to form meaningful conections with others since they interact with a mask and not their real selves
Anessa keeps her distance from everyone, both because as a General she wants to be as profesional and as much of a figure of authority as she can, to protect and inspire everyone, and because she has to be strong and cannot show weakness to her soldiers, in order to keep them inspired and hopeful.
Warwick I think does want to be closer to Anessa. We know he goes to the King with the illusion thing tormenting him and the King turns him away. I imagine him being someone that needed a close connection to be able to deal with the horrors of war and the horrors in general. Someone that he could have as a pillar instead of being all alone. But of course, it's war, and he's a soldier (I don't remember his rank, I know he's second in command) and you can't show weakness, so he keeps it inside until it consumes him.
I think he notices Anessa is putting up a mask too ealry on, and that also makes her untrustworthy and that hinders his desire to try to get closer.
But at the end of they day, they trust eachother and they rely on eachother every day, every fight. If Warwick hadn't Warwicked and had lived to the end of the war they'd be besties (probably, depends on the plot)
i wonder if I can make the relationship between the Anessa and Warwick a narrative foil to the relationship between the Builder and Malroth
