I really don't think that Pryce and Hera have any similarities, voice vice, and I'm not even talking about the glitches but the lack of humanness Pryce is displaying.
Really Short Fix It Fic (some of the way) for Hemlock Grove
Set in the middle of Season 2. Massively spoilers for Season 1.
Dr. Pryce (to Roman): Yes, well, we would like someone here to make sure nothing goes wrong.
Roman Godfrey: What would go wrong? I’m trusting you. Don’t let anything go wrong. Why do you think I pay you so much?
Dr. Pryce: It jsut a precautionary measure. Also, you will feel disoriented afterwards and should have someone to take you home. So, I take it that person won’t be your mother. Shall we put down your uncle?
Roman Godfrey: No, put down Peter. Peter Rumancek.
Dr. Pryce: Yes. And where shall we find Mr. Rumancek?
Roman: At my place. He’s been staying at my place.
Dr. Pryce: Very well. Then I will send someone to go fetch him.
(Behind the link is the rest. There is discussion of suicide, rape, incest and abuse)
Dr. Pryce sends someone to go pick up Peter. Roman: *getting the procedure done*
Peter: So what is this procedure supposed to do?
Dr. Pryce: He wants to be human again.
Peter: Again?
Dr. Pryce: Yes, apparently Olivia Godfrey concocted an elaborate plan to get him to kill himself. First you and he lost the girl, Letha. Then, you left. I have not been able to ascertain if that was due to a threat on Olivia’s part to your mother or just bad timing, but when Roman asked for you, you were not there. Then Olivia was to reveal her magnus opum. She saw fit to inform him that she had used her ability to get him to rape his cousin then had him forget it and her remember it as an angel. After the baby was born, you and he thought it had died, didn’t you? Well, Olivia had taken it, and upon telling Roman that showed him the baby. Now, we both know that Roman wasn’t actually JR’s. By that point, Olivia had started sleeping with his brother, Norman, Letha’s father, and fact which she might or might not have told him that day. Either way, his mind reacted much the way any sane person’s would, if one can call that family sane. He tried to kill himself. Succeeded actually. The only problem with upir is that that is how you become one. Genetics and death at your own hands.* Needless to say, every day is a reminder of why he hated her, every glimpse of that child is a glimpse of what he did, and every time he hungers is a reminder of Olivia’s words that he is exactly like her.
Peter: *long since having turned to stare at Pryce very matter of fact way of putting it* She had him rape Letha and then orchestrated his suicide?
Dr. Pryce: Yes. He keeps trying to cover it, but he feels it deeply. He will be as human as he was before he attempted suicide after this, but the guilt will still remain. Should he try to end it again, I don’t know what that would do to him.
Peter: Why do you care?
Dr. Pryce: I am a doctor and he is my patient. Also, if this succeeds, there will be others in certain circles interested in it. There is an upir head researcher in charge of a pharmaceutical company who is at the head of many medical breakthroughs that would be interested. Now, I think this town is bad for Roman. I suggest you find another member of your extended family to stay with or that you and he take the baby and leave town.
Peter: You want him out of your hair.
Dr. Pryce: Just because it’s a motive doesn’t mean it’s the main motive. I must admit that two Godfrey upirs is trying.
Peter: What about Shelley?
Dr. Pryce: I will not allow any harm to befall her, neither from Olivia nor from Roman nor anyone else seeking to harm her. Of that you can be certain.
Peter: Where should we go?
Dr. Pryce: I suggest a city with a lot of people so you can be anonymous. Try New York? It’s only a few hours away and there is always Central Park for your wolf to explore.
Peter: You know about that?
Dr. Pryce: Yes, and I am fascinated by it. Do you mind if I do a medical checkup?
Peter: Maybe some other time.
Dr. Pryce: You will take my advice and get out of town once he’s well enough to travel?
Peter: Yes.
The following week they packed the baby into the car, said goodbye to Miranda and see you to Destiny and Andreas, hugged Shelley, and got on the road to NYC.
*I am convinced that Annie was not entirely truthful about the way that she died, and her word is the only one we have that upir don’t have to die by their own hand. Which, I get the feeling that if the could just be killed and wake up, Olivia would have done that, rather than risk Roman not dying.
