"Life must be treasured for it is fleeting." Yue said calmly to Michael as he smiled at her.
"Wise words, Your Majesty."
Yue watched from her vantage point, the pool in the center of her throne room. Her koi swam in the circle, one light and the other dark, as a scene upon earth played out; involving her twin.
Michael winced when the drug lord refused to hold his end of the bargain. "I'm rather surprised that you're alright with him doing that. It's not that I question you, just...unused to someone being alright with something like this."
The Empress of Heaven giggled and smiled. "I was raised as Sekhmet and Set's daughter above all else, Michael. Violence does not deter me, as I have taken part in it. And that drug lord should have realized that my brother does not like to be kept waiting when payment is due." She then waved her hand and the pond became as it was before. "Yun values life but in a far darker aspect lest it is a child. Even then, I will not be able to stop him, nor would I want to."
The archangel watched his empress and chuckled. "How did you become so wise at such a young age?" He asked, in a teasing manner, as the empress became somber for a moment. Realizing that he might have been insensitive he was about to apologize when Yue stopped him. "Empress?"
"You meant it in jest and I know you meant nothing harsh, Michael. I am still learning how to be the empress of all the souls who come through the gates. How to be the leader that Heven needs...most of all, to atone for how foolish I had been. I lost Yun to my nativity, and put my family in danger because I listened to the wrong person, instead of listening to my voice." Yue then felt Michael's hand on her shoulder and she looked up at him.
"You are far too harsh on yourself, Your Maj-er, Yue." The archangel could see that slight annoyance whenever he referred to her title during these moments. "You also stopped an ongoing war between Sai Gong and yourself, the moment you became a mother. You know the value of life. You stood your ground against your aunt because you didn't want a war to take away the family that was starting. Even the greatest warriors know when to lay down the sword. And I applauded you for being willing to learn, to listen. You've come so far so give yourself some credit."
"I agree!" Patience spooked both of them before hugging Yue and making her laugh. "And Michael doesn't always say that to just anyone~" He teased as his big brother glared at him. "You're doing amazing, Yue. Someday, Yun will see it too. I know it."
Yue smiled and in her mind's eye, she saw her twin smile. "Til then, Sen." She then turned to her advisors and putting her hand on her hip, cocking it out just enough she gave a rather wry smile. "We have a lot of work to get done, Boys. But..." She then snapped her fingers to adorn some beachwear. "We also should play. Come on, my kids have wanted to check out the beaches."
Patience hooted happily and went to go get the others as Michael laughed while he watched Yue chase after Patience. "I'll pass this time, Yue. But I do appreciate the offer." When she left, he looked onward and chuckled as Gabriel flew down from his perch. "She's doing a lot better than Father did."
Gabriel chuckled as he removed his Japanese fox mask. "Major improvement, that's for certain."
