wolves ( ayyy )
your character dying in my character’s arms.
oh please don't go -- we'll eat you up -- we love you so!
blood. dense, hot liquid. overflowing the cracks between his fingertips and mattered fur, staining his paling skin red. in the dim lights of the hallway ken felt the wolf underneath him shudder and heard it whimper, felt the blood pulsing as it left her body and oxygenated.
he was afraid, so afraid - chest tight and breathing short, gasping almost.
the nightmares, the fear, memories and voices trapped inside his skull were so god dam loud and they were all coming out into the open to show their gruesome faces to the light.
but in that moment, he felt so still - so silent. time had stopped. ken believed that if he lost another person in his life, he too would surely die. he could feel another part of him being pulled apart as dara lay in his grip - bleeding out from the multiple gun shots. the void in him grew.
he pulled the girl closer, her wolf form so much heavier than he had ever expected it to be. she whimpered again, snapped her head in his direction as if she was going to bite him because of the pain - but didn't.
"i'm sorry dara,"
his voice broke, not even trying to hide the tears that were building. ken tried to apply more pressure on her wounds.
"you'll be fine! i'm going to get you out of here," never would he have left her to die like this, whimpering and shuddering. not if he had the chance to save her. slowly he tried to pick her up, using all the strength he had been training towards. but she didn't whimper, she yelped - she howled. and she struggled and the blood got everywhere. if he moved her she would lose too much blood - if he didn't move her she would lose too much blood. one was less painful then the other.
"fuck--!"
once more ken slid down to the floor with his back against the wall. he kept dara close, brushing his fingertips through her fur - feeling the way each shallow breath she took. it would be any moment now until she was gone. gone forever, blown out like a candle in the wind - sending jaehwan into a dark place he would not be able to escape so easily.
"don't go," he begged, though he knew she could do nothing.
"please don't go like the others."
she whimpered and he choked.
"i'll miss you too,"
then dara's shallow breathing ceased.
the wolf was now a girl in ken's grip and he pulled her closer than before, holding her tighter than he normally would. another part of him had died with his friend and soon he would become nothing - just a living corpse whose cares had become ash, scattered in the wind.
