A few Fury of Dracula 3rd shots. This doesn’t come out a lot, but it’s always fun. I still think they did a really nice redesign with the latest edition, and it’s my favorite (especially now that WizKids has given it a decent rule book). Dracula has been getting a bit hammered in our games, but this time I kinda figured it out and won with a decent margin. We also finished in under 2.5hr, which was great - Fury has always been a bit in the long side. This is a game that usually comes out in October, and the last couple years I’ve always found myself saying we should try to find a way to get it out slightly more often. It’s that time of year, so taking another shot at Fury of Dracula 3rd. The new edition seems pretty hard on Dracula; but the 2nd started out that way too, where Dracula had a bit of a learning curve while the Hunters were easier to get started with. As Dracula they found me pretty quickly and then just harried me to (un)death in the second week. Getting an early matured vampire and then either breaking through the Hunter dragnet (with Escape as Bat probably) or killing one Hunter early seems key. Back when we played 2nd a fair amount, the balance would swing back and forth as new tactics were developed. I’ve been enjoying the new edition so hopefully we can get it a bit more play and see if things develop. We really need a 21st Century #DraculaDossier tie-in for this game; the engine could totally be re-purposed, just amp up the arc of the balance of power between Dracula and the Hunters and change all the chrome.
