DRUNK KISS MEME ( xx )
it’s a bad idea. a very, very bad idea -- but it’s her own fault, really. she should’ve known something like this would happen when she’d agreed to snow’s request. ‘undercover?’ regina nearly scoffed. she knew maleficent, and though she didn’t know them quite as well, she knew cruella and ursula too. there wasn’t a chance in hell of them believing her -- but if she were honest with herself, she wasn’t here for snow.
contrary to what she, and others, may think -- regina did care about maleficent. the blonde knew her better than most... and the queen had missed her dragon.
she’d fallen quiet for a while now, lost in thought as she nursed another drink. regina doesn’t drink often, it’s usually just a glass of wine here and there. but tonight has been excessive, and she is definitely feeling it. her throat burns -- it’s been burning since that first shot she’d thrown back, and the queen frowned down at her drink.
she’s scared.
not of maleficent, or cruella, or ursula.
but of that sick sense of wonder and awe that she’d felt spark to life as they left a trail of destruction in their wake. she’d missed this... and it scared her.
swallowing, regina glanced up at maleficent, and tilted her head. ‘because of us... maleficent lost her child.’ snow’s words rung in her ears and regina’s lips pursed in thought. she could understand why maleficent was doing what she was doing, but regina had already made her peace with snow white -- and she had her own child to think about. ‘henry...’
sighing, the queen knocked back her shot and crinkled her nose, dropping it to the table, not caring if it shattered. ❝ GOD, THAT’S AWFUL, ❞ she drawled with a slow lick of her lips. she could hear cruella and ursula in the diner kitchen, though what they were doing, regina would be content with never knowing. rolling her eyes, she looked up at maleficent and smirked as she drifted closer. ❝ I AM GLAD YOU’RE BACK... ❞
her voice is soft as she speaks, a slight slur to her words though it’s not nearly as prominent as it should be considering how much she’d drunk. they’re close now, very close, and it reminds her of before -- before the evil queen, before the curse, just -- before. maleficent is still taller than her, but then, most people are, regardless of the heels regina regularly wears. still, it makes doing what she wants to do, easier. no matter how stupid it probably is.
regina swoops in quickly, giving her little time to avoid her because liquid courage will only take the queen so far, and though it seems like a brilliant idea to her intoxicated mind, she wouldn’t put it past maleficent to wring her neck.
and she’d rather not be rejected completely.
so she kisses the blonde with parted lips and a slightly hitched breath, teeth sinking in to her lower lip before her tongue slips out and soothes the slight break she’d made. it’s... nice. and familiar. and just like the woman she’s kissing, she’d missed this too.
but she’s still drunk, and though she’d made a move to step closer, she stumbled slightly and regina couldn’t help but huff a breath of laughter, pulling away as she grabbed maleficent’s arm to hold her up and she grinned, turned, and tried in vain to steady both her stance and her breath.
she really shouldn’t drink.
