Send a ♡ to hear how my character would tell your character that they loved them without actually using the word “love.”
Quite a remarkable young Rito, Medli is. She has taken her responsibility as Valoo’s attendant gracefully in her stride of life with no failure to perform her duties. Despite her apprehensive attitude to her own abilities, she possesses the competence in aiding sky spirit as any fully grown Rito thrust into such obligations.
Some may say it’s silly due to the stark contrast in age, but Quill has always thought highly of Medli. Not just because she was the holy attendant, it was more so that she had immense spirit, even in dark times it may have been bent but it was never broken. It was quite impressive, for someone as young as she.
At the same time, the small Rito was a close friend to him. A younger sister to him? That was the only way he could put it into words. He had known her since she was wingless and she had since never ceased been able to shine light onto sunless days. On days her optimistic disposition fell all he could do was be there, feeling like he owes her much more than patting her shoulder and letting her weep.
"Medli," Quill said to get her attention, "your abilities far exceed the expectations you place on them. You have more power than you realize. I- all of us, on Dragon Roost- believe you can surpass anyone who has come before you… It’s great to see you home again, Medli."

“We should get a kitten.” He said off-handedly.
☺
"There are times where I may be speaking too fast and I call you M’li."

Sorry this took so long ^^;
Quill's sigh faltered a bit as his feet clicked down the stone corridor in a haste. He kept his expression neutral in the daunting tension that filled the hall and made the walls seem like they were closing in to crush you. Just yesterday, the atmosphere of the island had changed so quickly it would out-maneuver a snake. It went by normally at first and by mid-noon the endless storm of mourning seemed to warp time, making those last few hours stretch on for centuries.
The holy attendant, the one who had served the Great Valoo for for near her whole life, had passed away silently barely a day ago. The entire island was overcome with grief, even those Rito living far-off from the coast of Dragon Roost have expressed their woe for the death of the attendant, of the prince's grandmother...
The island was eerily silent, the normally busy and hustling Ritos all completely quiet, only exchanging words in a whisper as if using their usual voices would result in dire consequences. One could hear the ground rumble and lava flow beneath their feet from the stillness.
Quill's breath was subconsciously heavy as he approached Dragon Roost Pond, which he heard where the current whereabouts of the attendant's young protege.
"Medli? Are you here?" He called out upon reaching the tunnel's mouth.
