I’m watching cheese in the trap now and is it just me or are all the girls in this drama just super annoying?! There’s the blur helpless female lead that cannot do anything by herself and just awkwards around with that somewhat messy hair of hers. And her inner monologue is so VAGUE and clueless it just annoys the hell out of me. Like seriously can you just stand up for yourself or sit down and think through things properly instead of just having a lot of questions and going ‘ahh I don’t know’ every freaking time like if you just sit down and think properly I’m sure you can come up with some answers. Like seriously it’s not even cute -.- And there’s the loud coarse Baek In Ha that just won’t shut up and the way she talks is just so frustrating omggggg. Almost got turned off right from the start. I hope I didn’t judge the characters prematurely and I’m gonna stick around a while more; hopefully there’s some character development in the later episodes or something.
HOTEL KING -ANOTHER DRAMA RANT
This we are not discussing Doctor Stranger, surprise!
I just started watching Hotel King three days ago and I’m on ep 12 but I’m really in love with Dong Wook and his acting. I enjoy the plot. The characters are very complex so I guess I’ll analyze the characters so far…I’m getting tired but let’s see how many characters I can get done. (Sorry if there are any spoilers I you haven’t seen this show yet!)
Cha Jae Wan - or whatever his name is. My favorite aspect of this character is that there is a difference between Cha Jae Wan and Jayden. Jayden is the kid who once got beat, killed a man, lost his brother, and only thought about crushing his “father”. Cha Jae Wan is our hotel manager who is good at everything and has undoubtedly fallen in love with Ah Mo Ne. He does not forget who he is but he will do anything to protect his love. There is an amazing transition where he either decides to live as Cha Jae Wan or Jayden. The use of the names differentiating him and his goals for each character is very deep. Cha Jae Wan seems to give up everything he is working for for Ah Mo Ne while Jayden is ambitious and wants to take over the hotel. The struggle here is who will he live as?
Ah Mo Ne - she is very playful character I guess. She has seriously fallen in love with Cha Jae Wan. She treats her employees well. She stands up for them. She is only trying to do the right thing but there are moments when it backfires at her. She is probably the most clueless character in the story. She has yet to know Cha Jae Wan’s relation to the Vice -Chairman Lee Jong Goo. Ah Mo Ne completely trusts Cha Jae Wan even when his actions may seem fishy. She appears innocent and careless though we know how torn she is about her dad’s death and her efforts she is putting in. She says she’ll protect Cha Jae Wan but what happens when she finds out more about him? She puts so much trust and she accepts who he is no matter what. It’s intriguing how far her limits may be and better yet when she will become more serious and stand stronger on her own.
Sun Woohyun - it’s quite obvious, his affection towards the Chairwoman. So he is also a rich kid and I’m curious about the backstory on why he came to work for the hotel. Though he likes Ah Mo Ne , he also knows that Cha Jae Wan is a good person. He wants him to protect her. Woohyun is smart and diligent and able. He seems to be willing to do anything and is very loyal to the Chairwoman and the hotel. He does realize the relationship between the Chairwoman and the General Mamager. It’s great to see how his character developed from a simple employee to someone who has his own story.
Lee Jong Goo (vice chairman) - Ew ew. He is so evil. He basically killed Jayden’s brother, his own son. And he has a family and a daughter he loves? What is this guy thinking? What is he trying to do to Cha Jae Wan. Besides taking over the hotel. Why pick up the kid you threw away? Cha Jae Wan should’ve just let go of his hand when he was about to kill himself. If there is anythig that sickens me, it’s this guy. And he’s not that smart either. He’s just a murderer.
Love Myself or You
So I was all torn about Puff not being able to act with Aaron Yan again because of the conflict with WGM. But I am so glad about her new drama. Kai Qi is a completely different character than Liang Liang. And the food in the drama looks delicious. I’ve always loved food dramas. Jasper Liu is good looking and sweet so they look well together. It’s so cute my heart is bursting.
