Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano, Spring 2017 collection, Look 25, in an interpretation by Jonathan Howard, in April 2017. He calls his illustration 'The Birdcage': "My entry for this month's Draw A Dot challenge shows the designer held captive by one of his own creations. The idea was sparked by Sarah Mower, writing for Vogue, who described the collection as 'cage-like soft sculptures.' Galliano said that he's done with narratives but it's difficult not to interpret this last dress as a dark motif. Perhaps it represents the one thing that none of us can escape from."

In this piece,I decided to try something new and continue with the same material with the previous piece I had created.I though I was improving with using pro markers so I wanted to get more comfortable with using them more often as it is an easy material to use and very enjoyable too. I started this piece because I had to first sketch out the figure with the extra details and how I wanted it to look but I wanted it to look as accurate as possible so you could tell I was combining Lara Wolf and Draw a Dot in my work. Then I used the method that Lara Wolfs shading with a messy type blending in but making it stand out also at the same time. After I had filled in all the details on the face and body, I used a fine liner to make the outlines of the different shapes and to make it look presentably proud. Overall I think I need to work a bit more carefully on the shading tones on the face to seem and look more accurate to the actual model, but overall I am pleased with all the figures I had sketched out as I learned so much with doing this task by pushing me out of my comfort zone into getting the work I am capable of doing myself.
