her jewelry chimed, announcing her arrival as she dashed down the hall to catch up to lindhart. she was dressed more like a princess than a warrior, now that the fighting had ceased. her jewelry and clothing meant to display the wealth of her country. she was practically queen, which was incidentally, the reason she was here. some of her allies she had to invite to her coronation, it was a way to foster good relations with fódlan. but some she wanted there. “lindhart. i have much gladness to see you,” she said, her smile bright, and genuine. as she so often was in all she did. “i will be returning to brigid in a few days. i have been saying my good byes and i did not want to be missing you.”

“What are you —”

Before Yuri can finish his sentence, Constance is hugging him, her arms tightly around his arms and torso. He stands there like a plank for a moment, confused. “Well,” he hums. “This is certainly... a surprise. To what do I owe the pleasure, milady?” He tries to pat her back, but with his arms all but bound, it’s nothing more than a pathetic flailing of his hand and letting it drop.

          “ Mercedes, may I inquire you about something? “ A tilt of your head, you were careful with your distance / you didn’t want to make anybody uncomfortable with close distance. ( you couldn’t gauge how any of your students would react ; it would be a case by case basis. ) You offered just a small grin, however. You may be a professor, but you didn’t want to be as pushy as one ; you were barely older than most of the students, after all, you didn’t wish to seem old.

          “ Might I ask about your knowledge in Faith? You seem to do far better than most of your classmates in that department, I’d like to get a better sense of what I can do to help your peers excell further in it. “

The simple answer is no.

Annette gasps as she hears the voice on the other side of the door, sitting up with a start, but it’s only Mercedes. She passed out with a book in her lap, which she quickly snaps shut and drops on her bed. Still in her loungewear, she opens her door.

“I am!” She beams up at Mercie like she didn’t just wake up. “Oh, shoot, I didn’t forget it’s my turn to do kitchen duty again, did I?”

Who said “I love you” first: Petra. She’s just a little more upfront about everything. She said it very earnestly. And probably like .. staged it for romance. Out at night under the stars. Or on the beach. She explained he did not have to return her feelings but she simply needed to tell them to him. 

Who would have the other’s picture as their phone background: 

Who leaves notes written in fog on the bathroom mirror

Who buys the other cheesy gifts: Neither. I feel like most of their gifts are honestly very sincere and useful for one another. Simply by virtue of who they are. 

Who initiated the first kiss: Petra. Though it was a pretty mutual thing. 

Who kisses the other awake in the morning: Petra since she’s up first. She’s not always successful in getting him up, but she loves to try. 

Who starts tickle fights: neither.

Who asks who if they can join the other in the shower bath: Both. 

Who surprises the other in the middle of the day at work with lunch: Both! Sometimes Lin will surprise her while she’s been busy with meetings, convinces her to take some time away and eat. (And spend time with him). Petra in return comes and coaxes him away from his research with lunch. 

Who was nervous and shy on the first date: Neither? Honestly they kinda skipped dating. 

Who kills/takes out the spiders: Petra. Though she doesn’t kill them, she just takes them out. 

Who loudly proclaims their love when they’re drunk: Lin. It’s honestly kind of cute.

it’s petra’s birthday! || accepting

In all honesty, Lin struggles with gifts. Failing to grasp what made a good gift. During their days as students, he'd have given her a book on the different styles of swords. Books were rarely anyone's favored gifts. Even now as an adult, he was unsure but he figured that time with Petra was most valuable. He invited her to come sit with him under one of the trees he had quite liked to nap under when he was younger, hoping that she'd appreciate his with some snacks. "Happy birthday, dear Petra." -- @drawnintolife

Time with people she cared about was irreplaceable. A lesson learned a little too young, and repeated too often. And so she was quite glad when Linhardt invited her to come spend time with him on her birthday. ( Perhaps all the more glad, because it felt as though it had taken him some time to warm to her. And now he seemed to care for her a great deal. ) Her smile was soft, and warm as she sat down beside him. “Thank you Linhardt, I am glad to be spending it with you,” she promised, reaching over to give his hand a soft squeeze, before she leaned over and pressed her lips against his cheek. “I am glad you are thinking of me,” she confessed. It meant more to her than she could say.
