This was the @wellspringlutheranservices table at the #dreambigfair in Kentwood, MI this weekend. There is an over-representation of black families being reported and substantiated for child abuse and neglect in Kent County. African American children are only 10% of the population but 35% of kids in foster care. Statistics show that the majority of these children live in 49507 and 49503. We came to the Big Dream Fair because we want to recruit staff and foster families who want to ensure these kids have every opportunity to reach their full potential. #hopeflows #naturalhairfostercare #curlykidscare #grandrapidskids #kentcountykids
