Shortly after I posted "Uno Reverse" @seiya-starsniper wrote a snippet in the Mr Sadman discord server. A scene in which Unity talks to Dream after receiving his new knife.

I liked it so much that I asked if I could do a lil comic inspired by it. It's on ao3 HERE!

This is for the "Hunt" prompt for Dreamling week. Because dream and hob are technically on the run.

Middle Eastern Spinach Hand Pies and Pistachio Honey Cake from Sweetness Follows by @hedgehockey

Today's fic is from the 2024 Dreamling Bingo prompt, Bakery, so there are many many many food mentions in this fic! I'll probably have to revisit this fic in the future to make more things, but for today I chose the spinach pies and the honey cake. In this story, Hob owns a bakery/coffee shop with Joanna (there is always some funny banter going on between these two!) and Dream is an artist. But the most adorable part of the fic is that this is also a dad Dream and little Orpheus fic! Hob always watches their little antics and pines after the dad, as they regularly walk by the cafe. But one day they come inside and soon they become regulars, much to Hob's delight! It's a one-shot but a slow burn, and there's a lot of mutual yearning! But I really love the pace because it feels so real, and watching them fall in love is really sweet.

Here are a few lines from the fic!

Hob looks up from wiping the coffee bar, to see Jo leaning back against the counter, watching him.

“I’m sorry, what?”

“Do you think he’s a musician?"

“Who?”

“Mr tall, dark and scary, with the rainbow mini-me? The one you’ve been watching for days?”

“Shut up, Constantine,” Hob warns, turning back to the coffee bar and shaking his cloth over the grounds bin.

“I think I’m going to go for a walk,” he says. “I’m taking a pie.” This week they’re selling middle-eastern-inspired spinach hand pies since spinach is one of the few ingredients still in season. He drops one of the crescent-shaped pastries into a paper bag, and turns towards the front door.

[I made Lebanese fatayer, which are usually triangles, but I was in a rush and rectangles were easy to shape 😁. We continue with more food.)

Dream has a sweet tooth which is adorably childlike, especially so since most of the time he has to restrain himself and help Orpheus eat sensibly. Hob smiles at the sight of him taking in the possibility of nothing but cakes and pastries and cookies for dinner.

“The pistachio and honey cake is pretty good, I’m not going to lie,” says Hob, easily, lifting the cloche from it and cutting a slice for himself. “Would you like to try it?”

Dream’s face lights up with his small, brilliant smile.

Hob cuts a second slice, adding it to the tray with his own. “Don’t let me stop you picking whatever else you want as well. Dinner is on us tonight.”

Dream looks delighted. Like a child in a sweet shop. It’s very endearing.

[I made a Greek honey cake with pistachios, which seemed appropriate given Dream's Greek connection. It uses Greek yogurt, honey, and semolina. The texture is so soft and the honey orange syrup adds even more flavor. Dream would totally love this cake!]

I'm going to read the fic all over again; it's really good and the author has more WIPs which I'm looking forward to too!

Bonus:

I had invited a friend for dinner, so keeping with the theme, I also made Majboos or Middle Eastern Chicken and Rice for the main course.

When is the event ? From June 2nd to June 8th! While you should post the prompt for each day it is associated with, we will also be accepting late submissions, so have no worry!

Can I combine prompts? YES!! Be sure to indicate which days and prompts you are using in your description, otherwise, go free! You can post on either days associated with your prompts, or, if it’s a multipart work, on each corresponding day!

Is there any content restriction ? We accept all  works of all mediums - writing, art, collages, playlists, podfics, translations, video edits, etc. - , whether they are SFW, NSFW and/or triggering. Writers and artists- tag appropriately ; Readers and viewers - be mindful of tags!

Are polyamorous ships accepted ? Yes!! As long as the focus of your entry is Dreamling, poly-ships are absolutely accepted!

Do I need to be a part of the server to participate? Absolutely not! Dreamling Week is open to all! Although some additional events (such as a watch party, game nights and fic read-alongs) will be held on the server, submissions do not need to come from server members only!!
