I hate that people are saying that Panic! doesn't love their fans because they didn't do anything and didn't come outside to tell their fans what was happening. And that they were inside playing ping pong. Dallon apparently recorded a video of all of the fans and someone said that it wasn't right. They are saying that just tweeting wasn't enough 'concern?' and that they should have a better action plan.. Sorry, ugh. Are you okay by the way? I know you were there and all.
I…. what??? I mean… okay, I can understand where they’re coming from and why they’re upset and frustrated but they DO care, a whole fuck ton of a lot.
I was the one who told Dallon the show was over and that they were evacuating the whole building. He came out from that room where they were playing ping-pong when we were backstage near the exit and asked us what was going on, cuz Zack was running around trying to get people out so they didn’t know what was happening yet. So I was there and I told Dallon they weren’t gonna let them play and the look on his face fucking breaks my heart even now remembering it. He cares SO much. He looked so sad, and not in the normal way where he’s sad for him, he was very paternal which you could see in his tweets too. His voice was soft and comforting and he was trying to soothe us, really. Telling us he was gonna go talk to them and see if they could still do something or ANYTHING but he didn’t look optimistic about it and mostly he looked really sad, and like he felt incredibly guilty for having to stop the show.
These guys care SO much, and yeah, they went back and played ping pong because they thought it was no big deal and was being taken care of. They had no idea a huge support beam had collapsed and the entire merch table was just GONE. Something pretty big must’ve collapsed when the beam did to take out the merch like that. Crazy.
And on that note, I want to add to those going to upcoming shows:
(And just FYI, I've only heard by word of mouth about the merch table thing so I don't know if it's true and I actually don't really think it could be because nothing collapsed, the beam just snapped and WOULD have collapsed if we hadn't all gotten out of there immediately. Either way though, fair warning...) You may not have a whole lot of merch, especially for tomorrow’s show and the rest of this weekend. They have no merch at the moment, they’ll have to dig it out of the rubble to get it…. so… please for the love of GOD don’t bitch about my babies because you can’t get the merch you wanted. That just goes out to everyone in general.
Anyway. I thought that all those tweets they all sent out made it pretty clear that something crazy went down and it was dangerous and they wanted people to know they’re sorry and they’re not happy about it either. No, they didn’t come outside, but Brendon did open a window (he was shirtless too!) when we were all gathered there, the same thing as the Vine Dallon posted, so it’s not like they COMPLETELY IGNORED US OR SOMETHING! They were there! Maybe they couldn’t come outside but they made an effort to see us and show us that we matter and aren’t just a meal ticket to them.
JFC. These people who can say shit like Panic! doesn’t care about their fans or whatever other bullshit have CLEARLY never met the guys or made any effort to get to know them through internet and social media, articles, interviews, etc.
Don’t fucking talk about them like that. I will go America ALL OVER YOUR ASSES!
