Funny enough, Hirano has Gilles De Rais as a character in his other series DRIFTERS along with a misanthropic Joan of Arc. Would be very interested in your opinions on Hirano's takes on them.

Though I have yet to watch or read Drifters. I know the premise is about as batshit as a Hirano story is, and a good number of the ARE interesting, it seems less up my alley than Hellsing would be. It's on my watch list though.
