Seven years. It had been seven years since Alexis had been officially stateside, wearing her civvies like the rest of the country. There was nothing defining her as someone who had served. She was currently like everyone else. If everyone else had PTSD from living in a warzone just trying to survive. Of course, this wasn’t the first time that she had been stateside, but it was the first time that she was without orders to be returning for another tour.
Alexis took the time that she had free of the US Army to head to Seattle in an effort to catch up with the one person she had left.
Arizona. It had been a friendship meant to be from the very beginning and now more than ever, she needed to cling to what she had left. Nick was gone and so was Tim. Neither of them had their big brothers. It was just the two of them now.

with being in the white house, the days seemed to get longer & more stressful. sometimes heading to the bottle was mellie’s way of coping after she kicked off her heels & headed towards arizona. arizona was also a great way to cope. as she headed towards their bedroom, mellie couldn’t wait to greet her, but she stalled once she opened the door & realized that the blonde got to the booze before she did. the atmosphere itself seemed off center & she could tell that it was because of arizona. almost immediately, mellie wonders if something happened at the hospital -- if she lost one of her ‘ tiny humans ’, as she calls them. without saying a word, the woman grabs the crystal bottle & a glass for herself before heading towards couch, sitting down next to her girlfriend. ‘ tell me what happened, ’ she says softly, taking the top off of the crystal bottle & pouring more scotch into arizona’s glass & some for herself as well. ━━━━ @drmcperky
