The perfect drone making course for kids
Lydnow offers a 2 part drone making course. The course will be offered during the second semester of the 2020-21 year. Both the Beginner & the Intermediate courses are availe for 2 sets of age groups, 10-15 year olds & 16-22 year olds.
Lydnow offers a personalized certification approach that gives students greater flexibility to customize what courses they take in high school to prepare for a career after graduation.
As part of that approach, Lydnow encourages students to obtain industry certifications while they are in high school. The course is also being upgraded every semester, in response to trends that show future job growth in career fields where drones perform a variety of functions.
Lydnow students make their course selections in late March-early April, which unfortunately has been pushed further by a couple of months this academic year. The process for students includes ranking the priority of their course preferences.
Though the demand for the course is high, it takes up a lot of staff time, which is why Lydnow conducts a finite number of batches. Lydnow’s founder Arijit Mallicki’s hands on in training, apart from a crack team of qualified technologists. Drones are very pertinent to the world we have now. It’s not something that is going to go away but it’s something that is going to grow.
The training includes course material, a flight simulator kit, drones and free-standing obstacles to train students on flight maneuvers, The drones will only be flown indoors either in the technology education classroom or in large open common spaces.
The course will begin with an introduction on how drones function and how drones are being deployed for public safety and commercial use. The students at this stage will also learn to fly a drone effectively without GPS. The advanced course focuses on creating small table top size racing drones, calibration basics, to provide sensors with accurate measurements. Students also learn to attach accessories, like a camera, to wirelessly transmit photos or videos from their drone.
The course is perfect for school & college students interested or persuing a degree in Agriculture, Science, Technology, Education or Math. The goal is to provide students an opportunity to learn about drones and use it either for recreational purposes or to solve a real world problem.
