Monster girl cursed to have water constantly exude from her mouth and pores.
Shout out to The Secrets of Droon, everybody's favourite not-Harry Potter from the early 2000s. I remember reading a bunch of these books back in the day, and while I don't think I ever finished them (just looked it up and it turns out there's 40 books‽), I remember them so vividly.
The vibes they had, from what I can remember, were just such a unique blend of classic pulp- and high fantasy that I feel like you don't see as much these days.
I never did find out the full story of Sparr. I remember that the first book I read wasn't the first in the series, so I remember getting introduced to him when he was a kid or something? I don't remember if it was his actual younger self or if he just got de-aged through magic or something. I did go on to read the first couple of books after that, I think.
I also remember a green magic gem being a huge focal point of at least one of the stories, but I forget what its powers were. My memories of it make it seem almost infinity stone–level, but it's not too clear. Did it have time powers, or am I just thinking of the time stone?
But yeah, I just wanted to write about a nostalgic memory that just resurfaced recently. I kinda want to read through them all now...
Does anyone else remember the Droon books? Anybody read those? There were really quite a lot of them, and they actually had a rather complicated overarching plot, as I recall. (Not to knock on a lot of the similarly-sized books/elememtary school fiction series genre, but some of them are very, very formulaic.) Maybe I should go back and try rereading them.
Does anyone remember The Secrets of Droon? I loved the series. I loved Princess Keeah.
Now see my own version of the mailroom fit. I just can't handle it he's so cute 📺🎀
