Call Out Post (Summer 2026)

My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren't Wicked (1 ep): They have One (1) Joke and by god they will force it upon the audience over and over again like piss after drinking water.

The Cat and the Dragon (1 ep): A respectable enough anime, I wouldn't fault anyone that enjoys it. I just find talking-animal concepts really annoying most of the time.

Iron Wok Jan (2 eps): I respect the vision, but for that reason, I'm out. Maybe in a slower season I would've stuck with it.

Red River (3 eps): The source manga is from the 90s and you can tell (derogatory). The main heroine lacks any critical thinking skills and, more egregious, it is wildly inaccurate to its historical setting.

Recommendations from Iwamoto-Senpai (4 eps): A "monster of the week" type show where each episode starts with a cool mystery, which is then instantly half explained in the most uninteresting way possible. Go girl give us nothing! I held out for 3.5 eps because the boys are pretty :/

Call Out Post (Spring 2026)

The Food Diary of Miss Maid (<1 ep): The main girl's personality was so irritating to me with how naive she was and then I also was already bored halfway through the episode, even though she already ate 2 iconic Japanese snacks.

Killed Again, Mr. Detective (1 ep): After brief narration scene, then the opening song, the show's first real scene is a busty teenage girl showering. The main guy is typical anime boy slop. I skipped to the end to watch him get murdered after deciding to drop it.

Kirio Fanclub (1 ep): yuri bait with a man in the middle.

Petals of Reincarnation (<1 ep): edgelord slop. I'm not wasting time watching this to see Isaac Newton with an apple head or regular Hitler.

Pardon the Intrusion, I'm Home! (2 eps): Both men are manipulative assholes, which didn't bother me as much as the main woman being a 1 dimensional ditz with no boundaries and happily does whatever either of the men ask of her. Girl stand up and grow a personality.

Eren the Southpaw (2 eps): The writing thinks it is being clever when it's not and characters are nonsensically inconsistent.

The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King (2 eps): I like the premise, but wish it took itself a little more seriously (-_- author's barely disguised slave fetish). The barbarian king is okay; he's a gentle giant but no nipples. The main character warrior princess is, however, a classic tsundere, and I can only tolerate a minimal amount of tsundere-ness in an anime. And her dress is ugly.

Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku!? (2 eps): Main guy is the worst part of it, would've been better as a gyaru yuri. A gyuri if you will.

Call Out Post (Winter 2026)

Case Book of Arne (1 ep): nachos reheated in the microwave type of an anime. Don't watch this if you value your time.

The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom (1 ep): Terrible anime, great drinking game. Take a sip every time a stupid sounding name is mentioned.

The Darwin Incident (2 eps): Anime is my escape from reality and this anime is about racially motivated political violence in modern America. No thanks.

Shiboyugi: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table (3 eps): The first episode was good and cool. The next 2 were SO BORING. It's a slideshow anime where all the characters just stand around and talk vague nonsense for most of it.

Sentenced to Be a Hero (4 eps): I realized midway through episode 5 that I just don't care about any of the characters or anything they do. I dreaded starting the episode and then they introduced an annoying character.

Call Out Post (Fall 2025)

Dusk Beyond the End of the World (3 eps): I can excuse adopted-sibling incest for the sake of occasional background gays (and really cool action scenes), but I draw the line at harem of emotionally stunted women, homophobic mc, and a 2nd completely separate incest couple.

Pass the Monster Meat, Milady (2 eps): It was genuinely okay. It was delivering exactly on its premise and it's everything I expected it to be, which is generic and kinda boring. I'm recovering from drowning in good anime last season so mediocre just isn't cutting it this time.

Wandance (<1 ep): CGI was soo clunky, especially with hair physics. A few times I paused the show to gleefully copy the weird stance a character was doing in the mirror. I had already decided to drop it when the mc notably lost his stutter because he was angry.

Call Out Post (Summer 2025)

Betrothed to My Sister's Ex (1 ep): It's trying to be My Happy Marriage, and doing it terribly. I hate that her bright red hair has contrasting neon green highlights for no reason. Every character's shallow personality sucks in some way.

With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess (>1 ep): Barely animated, more like a moving manga.

Fermat's Cuisine (2 ep): I do not have the patience for this one. All of the characters are 1 dimensional and annoying. The animation dips into uncanny valley too often. The premise is executed so dismally that I watched Food Wars clips afterwards to feel happy again.

Cultural Exchange With a Game Centre Girl (1 ep): I didn't know the main girl was 13 and that the "love interest" was a grown man until the Mother's Basement video. I thought (and hoped) that they were each ~17. I was already considering dropping it so the age difference was just the push over the edge to kill it from my list.

Nyaight of the Living Cat (2 ep): Would've been better as a movie or OVA. I got tired of the cat= zombie bit after the first episode. Also, the CGI cats are jarring to look at. The humans are not interesting either.

Uglymug, Epicfighter (3 ep): I lost interest during episode 3, and realized I didn't care about any of the characters at all. This season is too packed with much better anime for me to waste time on this one.

Call Out Post (Spring 2025)

The Shiunji Family Children (1 ep): Standard incest harem anime (extra derogatory). Was curious if there was a chance for BL but alas, the other brother has a normal girlfriend and is genetically related to 1 of the sisters.

Classic★Stars (1 ep): Not a single redeeming quality to this anime. The plot is ridiculous, animation bad, and every character is unlikeable. This is an inferior imitation of ClassicaLoid. Yikes. The obvious and intense Red/Blue rivalry slapped me with emotional damage AND the little blonde boy is super annoying! Awful, do not watch this one.

Once Upon a Witch's Death (<1 ep): I didn't even last 5 minutes until I was bored to tears and quit early. They implied snakes eat kibble. Yet another fictional Meg failure. Also, the old lady from Spirited Away is there??

Your Forma (2 eps): I was fine with the really pretty blonde android guy not having much of a personality, but you can't have the other main character that's human also have no personality. The structure of the first 2 eps are fast paced, without explaining anything (derogatory). Edit: I've been told that this anime is adapting Volume 2+ of the manga, which makes sense why the anime is Like That.

The Dinner Table Detective (1 ep): The main character is insufferable. Art style looks like the iphone photo smoothing that I hate so much.

Apocalypse Hotel (2 eps): It's cute and has potential to be a good emotional story in later episodes. I simply don't have the time nor energy to wait for it to get good. Doorman robot stays in my heart though.

Just updated my anime list, there's 14 shows on there that I've dropped! XD

Baring in mind, I do give these shows a fighting chance! I won't drop a show until I'm at least 10 episodes in. Oooor if there's immediately too much weird shit XD

FMA fans, don't hurt me, plz, I just... The show just didn't click with me! 😭

I might try some again? Sometimes, I'm just not in the right head-space to start something new. Took me like, 4 attempts to start Demon Slayer. XD
