A few Karolina/Pete scenarios going through my mind right now. But, mainly it’s Karolina studying Pete before they got together, as if he were a rare creature she stumbled upon in the swamp. Yes she knows about the whistling noise he makes when speaking, or the fact Pete talks out the side of his mouth. His fidgeting hands and “:[“ face Pete makes when thinking. YES Karolina has written about such things in her journal and YES rowdy has looked through it on occasion.
