"well, just know that you're not the only one." she shares in a hushed whisper, eyes glimmering with mischief. she's also brought here by her friends, though the idea of a free vacation is what made her stay. “oh… how scandalous are you, typically?” jules teases with a smirk, eyebrow raising with intrigue. while forming connections has always come easy to her, an affinity that’s served her well in her job as a makeup artist that necessitates great people skills, she’s found it effortless to bond with him, his presence a welcomed balm as she’s still getting used to the format of the show. noticing the way his gaze drops to her lips for a moment, she ignores the telltale way her heart skips a beat and focuses on the motion of her brush. “you’re born camera ready — i just made it even better.” she smiles, her compliment genuine. “has anyone told you you’ve got an actor’s face?” if anyone on set has the right to make such a statement, it would be her.

“ well,   hey,   i   appreciate   your   sacrifice, ”    he   started,   a   soft   laugh   leaving   his   lips   after   he   spoke.   knew   it   would   have   just   been   another   thing   on   the   long   list   of   things   his   parents   had   questions   about   if   he'd   showed   up   with   no   one   in   tow,   but   also   had   an   inkling   that   lila's   presence   would   ignite   more   questions   than   mason   would   probably   have   answers   to.   but   at   her   comment,   his   grin   turned   a   little   lopsided,   boyish,   and   he   shrugged.   maybe   was   preemptively   shoving   his   foot   in   his   mouth,   but   there   was   no   time   like   the   present.   “ nah,   you   don't   need   me   to   help   you   do   that,   i   promise.   seriously,   lila.   you   look   great. ”

god , what a nightmare of a date . lyka gave some lame excuse to the person she’d foolishly agreed to going on a date with on some dating app . now here she was at the bar , praying this reprieve would save this disastrous date . “ um , hi . could i get a french 75 , please ? ” she offers the bartender a sad smile before looking over to her date . he was laughing to something on his phone . there was no way of avoiding the frown that tugged at her lips . “ with a heavy pour of gin , if possible . ”

a soft , drunken hiccup passes through her lips . finger nails anxiously scratching at the nearly empty bottle of champagne’s label . “ do you like her better than me ? ” nathalie was too scared to look up at them , there was a chance that the answer would break her . it wasn’t like she had a right to be upset over the answer anyways . their time together had come to an end the second the job was over . it didn’t matter that she wanted to stay longer . “ do you smile for her like you did for me ? ”
