PRINTMAKING REPORT!!!

GUYYSSSS IM SO THRILLED

been working on this drypoint etching and i’m soooo thrilled with it ^-^

i may go back and etch deeper in some spots and ofc print a lot more but i’m really really pleased

for those maybe unfamiliar drypoint etching is when you scratch into a plate of plexiglass and rub ink into the scores, wiping it in (and off of where there’s no mark to hold onto.) it’s like copper etching, but there’s no acid to control intensity, and everything is reliant solely on crosshatching hehehejeje.

i haven’t done this in like two years! felt really good to flex my muscles again. honestly i’m absolutely in love with it. working on two more right now xD

Working on a new Payneland drypoint etching. The plan is to bring prints of this plate and the previous one to the London meetup in August for folks who want them. I’ll also try to make cyanotypes of the plates. Below is a pic of the prints from the first plate.

the top 3 were made with linocut and the addition of drypoint to add value and the bottom 3 were all made with just drypoint (with the exception of the red grapfic, which has linocut added to it) :]
