Mudding Drywall Patches Made Easy
Mudding drywall patches made easy is what this DIY howto video is about. VideoJoe is right in the middle of patching a sheetrock wall & there's a few steps needed when doing drywall patches. Self adhesive webbing tape is a must for sure before putting on & applying the first coat of what VideoJoe calls quickset which is a fast setting drywall compound that dries pretty quick & won't shrink & that's what you want when you do drywall patches. Once the first coat of quickset has been applied over the webbing tape then VideoJoe applies a second coat of quickset to fill up the voids & bridge out over the first coat of quickset. Then VideoJoe applies a first coat of all purpose joint compound over the quickset. Then that coat of joint compound needs to dry all the way before he knocks down any little edges he might see before applying a skim coat of mud over that using the all purpose joint compound again. Then that layer of mud has to dry all the way, usually overnight, before he will then sand his drywall patch areas. Whew sounds like a lot of work. Well yes it does but you will get good at it if you just get in there & try it out. A great way to save yourself some money for sure since you won't have to pay a drywall contractor to come out & finish your drywall patches & charge you an arm & a leg for the repairs! VideoJoe wants to help save that arm & leg for you so you can keep keeping on! Why pay someone else when you can do it yourself & that goes for drywall patches & repairs too! Mudding drywall patches is easy...when you know how. Watch & learn as VideoJoeShows you what VideoJoeKnows...mudding drywall patches made easy. Nice!
How to Make & Prevent Repairs at Sliding Glass Closet Door Wall Ends
How to make & prevent repairs at sliding glass closet door wall ends is what this DIY howto video is about. VideoJoe is out doing a bunch of service call work to one vacation condo in Maui. The next thing on his list is to patch & repair some sheetrock wall ends at the existing closets where the sliding glass closet doors close into. These particular closet door openings are only wrapped with drywall with no wood door jamb or door casings around. The openings look really clean & smart other than the fact the sliding glass closet doors do a damage number eventually on the sheetrock wall end surrounds! I guess it keeps me busy with service calls for sure with all the other condos in this complex! Making & preventing repairs at sliding glass closet door wall ends is easy...when you know how. Watch & learn as VideoJoe gives you another lesson. This time for how to make & prevent repairs at sliding glass closet door wall ends. Easy!

How to Patch Drywall Like a Pro
How to patch drywall like a pro is what this quick DIY howto video is about. VideoJoe just got done patching an old duplex junction box hole in a wall & when he got done you couldn't even feel or tell where the drywall patch was. That's because he bridged out the wall patch way further than where the hole patch was. You have to taper in a drywall patch so you can't feel or see the hump where the drywall patch was. That goes for any drywall patch you do. If you can feel the drywall patch after you think you're done then after you paint it you will see the patch. The slight hump will cause a shadow on the wall that you will see with the naked eye when you stand back & look at the wall after it's been painted. Good professional drywall tapers make sure they float out & taper the drywall patches & repairs right into the remaining wall so with a naked eye you won't see the drywall patches after you prime & paint the wall. Patching drywall is easy...when you know how. Watch & learn as VideoJoeShows you how to patch drywall like a pro. Easy!
