like calls to like  ,    𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐢 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬  .    life itself pouring herself across the cosmos just to reach out for your hand  .    her eyes raise slowly from the ground  ,    heart leaping into her throat    /    the dusty haze of a summer’s sunset coloring her cheeks as he speaks  .                      (    do you think that i was made for you    /    from you  ?    )                     i think that i could fall into your eyes    &    be lost there forever  ,    swaddled     &    loved in the wholeness of your body  .                    she breathes  ,    and light floods the room  .                    ❛    you don’t mean that  .    ❜                     shyly she moves  ,    as if a whisper in the wind    /    a suggestion    /    a ghost of flowers  .    gown gathered in her hands as she steps up to him  ,    head tilted up towards the halo of air above him  .    and all at once bravery climbs up her throat  ,    wraps its ivy around her delicate wrist    &    pulls until she’s caressing his cheek  .                    (    what humanity would not give  ,    to hold death in their hand as i do  .    and yet i hold no ache  ----    no harm  ----    no ill will towards you  ,    not as they do  ,    not as they would wish to  .     i am only love    /    i am made of light    /    𝑖 𝑎𝑚 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒  ,    𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒  ,    𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒     )

𝐇𝐈𝐒  𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇  𝐈𝐒  𝐀  𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋𝐘  𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐔𝐋  𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  .   lucy  has  indeed  thought  of  lips  in  a  most  romantic  but  thoroughly  abstract  way  all  her  life  ,   but  he  is  real  .   it’s  a  double - marvel  ,   that  a  man  might  wish  to  attend  to  her  in  the  ways  he  does  ---   coupled  with  the  fact  that  he  is  a  god  .   

when  he  takes  lucy’s  hand  ,   standing  outside  her  bedroom  door  he  does  not  seem  so  imposing  .   and  for  a  moment  ,   just  a  moment  she  needs  to  feel  very  quickly  for  the  front  of  her  blouse  ,   to  press  her  hand  to  the  sternum  that  has  been  for  so  long  .   for  the  fluttering  sensation  when  he  kisses  her  is  real  and  alive  in  a  way  she  has  not  known  in  over  a  hundred  years  .

“    you  are  such  a  gentleman  ,    ”    she  squeaks  ,    “    and  a  gracious  host  ,   indeed  !!   good  night  s---   hades  ,   good  night  .    ”

angst  ||  @dthking​​ : “You want to be a hero? Is that it?”

“I never said I wanted to be ANYTHIN’.” Words were quietly hissed between gritted teeth. The world was heavy on his shoulders and even more LONELY on unbeaten path he traveled. You want to be hero? Giles could’ve spit the blood that was draining down the back of his throat in the strangers face. Never would he wish the life he lead onto another. “I’m not no HERO. Nor will I EVER be.” Heros were praised upon, WORSHIPED for their valiant acts of courage! Giles Monroe was no more than a ghost and a murderer to most. “I was raised to HUNT. To protect folk from things they don’t understand. Sometimes my efforts just don’t cut it. And sometimes I have to kill them too.”

“You think I enjoy this?”

The hunter felt like no such thing. He felt no appreciation, received no reward, NOTHING. Not even the Heavenly Father above showed him any gratitude for doing his MESSY WORK.

❝    i  do  no  such  thing  ,   i  think  it  is  a  terrible  side - effect  .   to  have  experience  is  all  well  and  good  ,   of  course  ,   but  to  allow  oneself  to  become  embittered  ---    ❞    lucy  looks  compassionate  ,   however  .   she  is  not  without   understanding  .  

she  does  not  fear  to  touch  him  nearly  as  much  any  more  .   her  hand  bridges  the  divide  ,   resting  on  hades’  warm  ,   bare  thigh  .    ❝    oftentimes  i  wonder  if  bitterness  stems  mostly  from  a  personal  belief  that  one  cannot  be  saved  .   and  rarely  is  that  true  .    ❞
