I’ll open this up with a shot of the Eli and Edythe Broad Plaza I captured on my way back to Little Tokyo to pick up some odds and ends I didn’t bother with on Saturday night. I decide to have breakfast at Dulce home of the bacon donut before I concluded my early morning Christmas shopping expedition. I had the breakfast burrito and a large Americano. I had an hour to wait before Japanese Lifestyle (Tokyo Japanese Outlet) was open. I just love this store. But my most favorite is Bun-kado. It’s Japanese kitsch at its best. I had to add Pop Killers poop emoji 💩hat and Maneki Neko’s toilets cups at the end because they are so hilariously wrong. In the evening Monique and joined up to hit Little Tokyo dine at Suehiro’s together then shopped a bit more. Monique was thoroughly enamored by Little Tokyo and I could blame her. So many wonderful place to explore and shop. While at Suehiro we ordered our dinner choices. I got the Chicken Teriyaki and mixed Vegetables Tempura with a side of vegetable tempura as a side we could share. It was Monique’s too me and I’ve been coming to Suehiro since 1986. Gabriella and I would come for vegetable tempura and a giant Sapporo beer. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and left to go shopping. Yesterday when I was faced with an in pleasant task I do what I often do to make that task an adventure. I had thought I’d visit Bodega Louis because I haven’t been there sins its reopening but I was in a curious mood and as I was walking to dine for lunch there I looked up and saw Little Sister. I’ve known of the restaurant for a while and in an instant I decided to eat there. I was under the impression it’s was a Cajon restaurant but I soon found out it was a Vietnamese restaurant with a French influence. There was an adjustment I made from Cajon to Vietnamese food in the time I figured out the menu. The gentleman helping me was knowledgeable about the cuisine and guided me through my choices. I immediately became fascinated with the Fried Okra (tomato, lime, mint, fenugreek) and then decided on ‘Pho Banh Cuon’ (with beef & tendon, herbs, lettuce, pickled onion). I ordered Jasmine tea to em round our my meal. The fried okra was amazing. It was the first time I’ve eaten okra with chopsticks something I’ve never considered but was delighted to do. The spring roll were good and sopped up all the peanut sauce. This was a hand and chopsticks combination. It’s was rather filling but the adventurer in me wanted more. I decided on the strawberry sorbet not know what a delight to the eyes it would be or how grad a dessert it would be. It had pickled strawberry on top of a chocolate mousse with whip cream on the side dusted with sweet chocolate powder. As we said in my family my eyes were too big for my stomach. What a glorious meal! It’s melted the negativity away from my task. I was out doing things I didn’t want to do yesterday and because I was a good boy I stopped in to Pitchoun! my favorite French pastry and breakfast/brunch nook. My first sighting was the little leftover ghosties near the register 👻. I kept my cool and order a café mocha and a almond chocolate crescent and piled on a few extras for later or earlier if I couldn’t control myself.
