Dubass Boss's introduction:
It's a special day today — we've got the first blogger from the USA. Dubass is beyond the politics, and I'm happy that people who are mad about winter drift — Dubass — are uniting and becoming one big family, in spite of everything. We thank Lucas for his trust.
Hello, I'm Lucas and I'm a driver. I have a career in Network Security but hope one day to make my living by racing.
I'm from the Frozen Tundra in Minnesota. I prefer to drive sideways on slippery surfaces and there is no better way to do that then in the Winter. "They say sideways isn't fast, They must not know me." (Quote from me off my Twitter).
I've won many racing events the coolest being The Road America Winter Autocross Series in 2014. I'm currently competing in the 2015 series having took only 5th in the first event, only being 4.2 seconds behind a 440whp STi. Being that is over 200 whp over what my car puts down and there was no snow to even the playing field, I did very well.
The top 4 times in front of me all had well over 100whp on me with much wider tires. I'm really hoping for snow in the second event so I can compete for the 1st place and get the series points I desperately need now.
I also host my own events on a lake here in Minnesota for My friends and I to have fun. I host these under the Title of Ice Fun Events and am currently using #IceFun2015 as its hashtag for social media (Although, It's mainly Instagram.) We have stickers for sale so we can keep are cone fund up, as traffic cones is our favorite thing past the Ice and Snow. I race all year round with my Subaru and compete on everything from Ice, Snow, Dirt, Tarmac, and anything else they'll hold a race on.
I drive a slightly modified Subaru WRX and have owned this car since 2007. It was stock up till a couple years ago where the first thing I did to it was replace all the bushings in the suspension and driveline with Whiteline poly.
Then I added beefy ALLWHEELSDRIVEN Gravel Coilovers to the mix and an Oppomoto 6 point rollbar for safety. Oppomoto is a cage builder who has cages being raced in the Forumla Drift series here, and has had several of his cages tested out by fearless drivers. The car has upgrades done to the motor not in search of horsepower but in search of reliability and durability. Including a KillerB Oilpan, Baffle, and Pick-up along with 08 STi oil Pump and Silicone coolant hoses.
Ready to scream near redline for hours on end (I've done this). I drive for Team ARWA (Always Race While Awake, or the crowd favorite Assault Rifles With Ammo) a racing team that I started. Team ARWA currently have 3 drivers competing in the Road America Winter Autocross Series, One of them winning the FWD class first place (Go Richard!!!).

It’s me and a story about rides again. 8th January, another snowy day. A great snowfall. I had nothing to do and I got the idea: “Why not to shoot cars blowing up a newly fallen snow?”
I posted on my community page: “Who’d want to have a ride and get pics then — write to me in private.” I didn’t wait long for a feedback.
Some of my friends responded:
Vadik on Outlander, Lekha on Audi A5 and Ilya on Audi A4.
All the cars are 4WD and that was a perfect fit. More speed — more snow — more fun.
We came to a favourite ride place — “Rotor” plant parking — and did snowy Dubass there. We don’t have many places in our city where you can drift without disturbing anyone in the daytime.
Of-course, all that was shot by the camera. Personally, I prefer winter drifting around the city. Although in the night, when it’s dark, it’s almost impossible to get so juicy pics.
Everybody was leaving in high spirits, “bombed” with fresh forest air. My friends and I should go to the country more often.
Then I sent over the pictures to the guys. They changed their avatar pictures and were satisfied with that :)
A couple of weeks earlier, at the same place, I was lucky to shoot and try on a new Subaru WRX 2015. My first impression: it’s quiet inside, comfy and nothing in excess.
I really liked the way the car is fitted and equipped. You can easily notice the growth in quality, if compare with the previous body. Full-colour display between tachometer and speed counter. There’s also an additional display on the top of the panel that you can set the boost pressure data and other characteristics on.
It’s me circling there. It goes so good. Turbo Impreza is a very worthy car. But to understand it totally, you need to drive some thousands kilometers and go to track. The car left a positive impression, notwithstanding the little time we had together.

Once upon a time there were some subarists! And all the clubs and those who’d like to have a ride gathered for a New Year Race. “Auto Pride” was the organizer there.
The meeting was held on the “Old Square,” after the ride around the city, and then moved to the mountains, to the Medeo. All the city car clubs gathered there. Most of them were BMW’s, Prioras and, of-course, Subaru club Almaty.
During all the way I was in the Forester shooting all that from the sunroof. It was unbearably cold, and my face got frozen because of cold wind. It wasn’t good but it was worth that! In Almaty it usually snows a lot in winter but this year it’s melting so fast :(
Having come to the Medeo, one of the main tourist sights of the city, all the clubs members began chatting standing near their iron horses and launching the fireworks. That was really great and beautiful!
After that some of us went back to the “Old Square” and some others went home. I went with the B4’s to take pics in the parking area. We got it NFS Underground style.
I truly liked the exposure picture with the B4 wearing the Blitzen body kit and standing near the road. It is so amazing!
The zest was in the end, when a black Bentley came and started doing Dubass around the Forester, and then the Forester was circling the same way! What’s more interesting, there was only one driver and I was shocked while watching how he was going to Forester from Bentley and then back again.
A very fun day it was, and I’ll remember it for ever because of its actions. Fingers crossed, Almaty will be overwhelmed with snow soon. I hope there will be a post about Bentley in Dubass in the near future.
The ride to the Medeo with the B4’s.
We also tested the “slow motion” effect on iPhone6. It appeared to be pretty good. Dubass in slow motion looks very juicy!

Hi everybody. It’s been a long time since my latest video, so catch the newest one. The guy I know, he’s the owner of a turbo Mitsubishi Airtrek, gave me an idea to shoot something. Well it didn’t take long to go to rides.
We chose Friday night for shooting as it’s the time when there’s less traffic. We decided to choose new routes for driving. We didn’t come to some places loved by drifters like “River Station” as it’s overcrowded all the day and there are police sometimes — the shooting could take much more time.
We had a big company there — four cars, but we had planned to shoot only Airtrek. One of the cars was used for having cameras installed on it, thanks to Lucky13 team for their help. We drove for an hour and collected some materials. Then all the cars left. It was a very warm ride.

Hi from Novosibirsk. I took up photography only two years ago. I believe, I started like any other photographer — shooting flowers, friends, and so on.
At the beginning, I had an ordinary Canon “point and shoot” camera that I had been saving up money for one or two months for. It worked beautifully and each time I tried its new adjustments and opportunities. Seven months later I got an idea to buy a reflex camera. I saved up money for it for five months.
I didn’t know anything about autosport then yet but last summer I first came to a car audio show and G-Drive show. That was the show I set my sights on being a car show photographer.
Since the summer season 2014 opening date, I’ve visited every car event. Since the first day until now, I’ve been shooting races and cars with a big pleasure.
Two of my very first accreditation inquiries were not approved, and only after the third try I got accredited for drift deals. I was very happy. After that I was allowed to come to every competition; I made new friends, both boys and girls. I became a photographer of several car clubs.
As closer to winter time, I started shooting cars with girls in service stations. When I shoot cars, I go to woods or parks nowadays. If there’s a need to shoot a car sideways, we go to open areas or to tracks. The pics are awesome there.
I’ve not a bit of regret that I chose this way. I hope that in the near future I’ll be able to come to drift events not as a photographer but as a participant. I’ll try to get to you more often with my posts. Subscribe to my page, I’m always happy to meet new interesting people.
