Ducati showed up at this year’s Motor Bike Expo with its sleeves filled with surprises and concepts. The Italian brand’s Ducati draXter Concept is definitely worthy of attention; if nothing else, it will prove once more that the Ducati name will almost always be associated with the fastest and most technically advanced bikes on the roads.
The Ducati XDiavel was Bologna’s big reveal at EICMA this year, but the cruiser model isn’t really designed to please everyone. This decked-out version of the same machine will certainly make anyone drool endlessly while daydreaming about a ride on the coast. According to Ducati, the draXter is a sporty version of the XDiavel; the Ducati Design Center’s Advanced Design area looked towards the future and inspired us all with their imaginative concept.
The Ducati draXter benefits from the same suspension and braking system as the Ducati 1299 Panigale, not to mention a dry-clutch conversion and Termignoni exhaust. The yellow “90” decal on the fairings signals reminds everyone about Ducati’s 90th anniversary; the Italian brand began producing radio components back in 1926, with the end of WWII forcing Ducati to adapt and develop motorized two-wheelers.
