i got to design the new sleeves for duelingbook's 6th anniversary!! they're inspired by the old dueling network sleeves + the elements and nature!!
Might start a sideblog for custom yugioh-ing facilitated by DuelingBook. Probably wouldn't showcase my cards (much) and rather write articles on PSCT, card design philosophies, interesting mechanics, and bad tropes. Probably also reviewing public customs of both the bad and good variety.
Me: I should get back into Yu-Gi-Oh.
Yu-Gi-Oh: Theme Decks! Pendulums! Monsters that aren't really monsters!
Me: Nevermind.
Added my deck into the server, ready to go and duel.
good lord why is it so tiring to go on duelingbook. i have literally played in paper before but it's so difficult to do manual play on the internet for me :[
Just played some Dueling Book with a friend of mine for the first time
It reminded me why I refuse to play with anyone that started, or has continued playing, in the last 10 years.
It's no fucking fun.
I play classic, I keep it simple, because a match where the opponent can't do anything is no fun.
I'm out here summoning a level 4, placing some traps, ending my turn, sometimes I'll manage a fusion on turn 1 if my hand is good enough.
My friend over here is summoning an entire field of monsters and spells every single turn just because he can, and reading off an encyclopedia's worth of effects off every single card.
It's no fucking fun to fight, I can't do anything.
"Oh just make a stronger deck-" fuck you, I want to play a game where both players have chances to do shit, and not a game where both players are doing their absolute damnedest to stop the other one from ever playing a single card.
If my opponent and I aren't BOTH losing half or more of our LP before the end, it's a shit match, and I won't bother with it again.
I'm sat here playing with custom decks for fun, because I want to have nice, chill, fun games, and he comes in with a comp deck playing like there's blood on the line.
Fuck that.
Duelling Book thoughts?
Not as good Dueling Network clone.
