The Flume Family (My Version):
Disclaimer: Ambrosius Flume and Mellona Flume are canon, Carmelita Schnapps is the name I gave Ambrosius's wife, Minthus Flume and Hera Plummly are a case similar to Caladrius Scamander and Esmerelda Vargas where there is no character for that position in the family tree, but Ambrosius is Mellona's grandfather so her parents are semi-canon. Everyone else is an OC.
The reason there is a dotted line between Citrus and Carpus is actually because they are meant to be half-brothers.
Name Meanings:
Citrus Flume: Sour flavour caused by citric acid. Carpus Flume: Roman god of ripe fruit. Ambrosius Flume: Nectar of the gods. Tobias "Toby" Flume: God is good. Letheia Flume: A reference to the River Lethe. Minthus Flume: Relating to the mint plant. Dulcetta Flume: Sweet flavour caused by sugar. Mellona Flume: Greek goddess of honey and bees. Florea Sprout: Relating to flowers. Anise Bellchant: Relating to the spice star anise, which has a sweet liquorice flavour. Carmelita Schnapps: Orchard of god, it also sounds similar to "caramel". Saffrina Nutt: Relating to the saffron plant. Hera Plummly: Greek goddes of the breeze, marriage and family.

Timeline/Family Tree:
I don't have OC's for this yet, but I imagine Citrus Flume's Mother was a member of the Smith family, making his lineage of the Flume family descendants of Helga Hufflepuff, although nowhere close to being her heirs, while Carpus Flume was born more than a decade after Citrus, with his Mother being a Professor at Hogwarts that his father had met during Citrus's schooling and become infatuated with. Everything is above board, there's no cheating, Mr. Flume and Ms. Smith ended their relationship amicably a year before Citrus started attending Hogwarts, and Mr. Flume met this Professor at a school event during Citrus's second year.
Florea Sprout is Pomona Sprout's Aunt, and considering Pomona is only two years younger than Carpus, this did create some interesting family events. Florea is the middle child, with an older brother and younger brother, although the biggest gap in age is between Florea and her older brother, who is five years older than her, but her little brother is only one year younger. Citrus and Florea don't currently have anyone in the same year as them, but in the year above them is Herbert Burke's daughter (canon unnamed character), and in the year below them is Callidora Black, Silvanus Kettleburn, Harfang Longbottom and Ernie Prang.
Carpus Flume is only sixteen when Citrus and Florea have Ambrosius, so he's still in school and he's already an Uncle to his schoolmates cousin. For this reason, he's actually not Ambrosius's godfather, Ambrosius's godfather is Florea's little brother. So, in all of this, despite the fact that Carpus and Pomona have no technical or legal relation, they probably act more like siblings than Citrus and Carpus do. Pomona even tries to embarrass Carpus in front of his crush, Anise Bellchant, in the same way a little sister would.
Carpus and Anise are married before Ambrosius gets to Hogwarts, and have their son, Toby Flume, when Ambrosius is just six years old, and Letheia is born the year before Ambrosius goes to Hogwarts, so the cousins somehow do end up being much closer in age than their fathers were.
Anise, being Ambrosius's Aunt and from the Bellchant family, is extremely good at Potions and Herbology, and teaches Ambrosius a little bit about those subjects while Florea is more of a baker. This is why Ambrosius Flume eventually ends up in the Slug Club, alongside his classmates (in the same year as him) Dahlia Fleur-Peri and Camelia Solis. He's not super close with them, he's close enough that they'll study together, but they don't really hang out outside of schoolwork.
Carmelita Schnapps is named that way as a reference to peach schnapps, although the rest of the surnames are references to other canon characters. For this reason, I've decided Carmelita is a muggle-born, and she didn't quite get Potions, so Ambrosius and her met while he tutored her.
Toby starts attending Hogwarts in the same year as Bellatrix Black, Rodolphus Lestrange, Molly Prewett, Euphemia Rowle, Rita Skeeter, Verucca Snyde, Yubert Thorne, Arthur Weasley and Corban Yaxley (and others but they're not characters with any actual characterisation). Around this same time, Slughorn, noticing Ambrosius's potential, gets him a job at Honeyduke's Sweet Shop, and Carmelita ends up working there as well.
Ambrosius and Carmelita Flume end up having their son, Minthus, at only twenty, so pretty quickly after school finishes, and Toby is only about fourteen when this happens and Letheia isn't even at Hogwarts yet, so they quickly destroy any chance of the next generation of Flume's being anywhere close in age.
Toby is, dun dun dun, bisexual, and he does have an ex boyfriend. His name is Eric Myriadd, he's a Ravenclaw student, and Eric goes missing while still a student at Hogwarts, and Toby never really gets closure on what happened but part of him wonders if Eric's family found out he was gay and sent him away for it. He'll never know. (It was Death-Eaters, they'd been trying to recruit him but when Eric realised who they were he ended up killed and his body never recovered. Also yes, Eric is Valeria Myriadd's cousin.)
Toby doesn't really date for a while, and Letheia doesn't really date, full stop. Not necessarily because she doesn't want to, although I'm down for her to be aroace, but because she just doesn't end up doing it. It's not high on her list of priorities. Letheia's classmates are Narcissa Black, John Dawlish, Romulus Greengrass and Jeremy Lee BTW (and others but they're ether not super important or no super well-known characters).
Saffrina is a few years younger than Toby, and they don't really meet until after they've both graduated Hogwarts, because Toby got a job at Honeyduke's from his cousin, and Saffrina also ends up working there, and that's how they meet. Carmelita and Letheia think they're very cute, and Toby does really like her, but he does hold back from the relationship after everything with Eric because he still hasn't really "gotten over it" and obviously, being bisexual, he's nervous about being in a relationship with a woman and how authentically himself he'll get to be.
Toby and Saffrina end up figuring things out though, Saffrina knows about Eric, and the two of them have a daughter named Dulcetta around the same time Voldemort is at his peak in power for the first war. Then, he vanishes, out of nowhere, and the two of them, and Letheia, are very confused how this is possible.
Minthus begins attending Hogwarts after Voldemort has been defeated, and there is a palpable anxiety of when his return will be. During this time, Jacob of Hogwarts Mystery is fucking about with the Cursed Vaults, and Minthus ends up repeatedly at the whims of whatever magic he unleashes. Minthus doesn't like Jacob and his friends very much, to say the least. He ends up meeting Hera during this time, because she is also put in the hospital wing, specifically for sleep walking into the Forbidden Forest, and they end up hitting it off.
At some point, the Honeyduke's shop and franchise (I don't think it's a franchise, but it might be, who knows) is left to Ambrosius and Carmelita, and they become it's official owners. Honeyduke's essentially becomes their family business, and Minthus ends up working there during his teen years, although Toby and Letheia have moved on to other careers (Toby runs a cake business and Letheia is an archaeologist).
Dulcetta Flume is in the same year as Colin Creevey, Luna Lovegood, Astoria Greengrass, Rolf Scamander and Ginny Weasley. I would say she probably did work at Honeyduke's as well, but I don't picture her particularly enjoying her time there.
Minthus and Hera have Mellona because they think Voldemort is never returning, and it's safe to start a family, but just as Hera confirms she's pregnant, Harry starts screaming about how Voldemort is back. Very unlucky timing for them.
When Voldemort returns, Dulcetta doesn't really know what to believe, but her family seems to think he might be back, and when that is eventually confirmed she ends up getting very protective of her at risk friends (Justin Finch-Fletchley, Susan Bones and Megan Jones, as a muggle-born and two relatives of Order Members). She joins the D.A. when Neville Longbottom starts it up again, and since her family own Honeyduke's, they use that as an additional route through Hogwart's, until they find the secret tunnel to The Hogshead Inn and start using that one instead.
This time around, the Flume family do participate in the war, as aforementioned, in a mostly sympathetic role. They're not really Order Members, they have no ties to that group, but they are helping in whatever way they can. Justin, Susie and Megan are hiding out with Carmelita, Minthus and Mellona, since her want to keep their new baby safe, in Ireland, since the war hasn't really reached them yet. Ambrosius and Hera held down the fort in Hogsmeade, while Toby and Saffrina worked in Diagon Alley. Letheia was away in Romania as the time this all went down.
Once the war is over, Dulcetta finds her own passion in mixology and bartending, and ends up working at a bar in Horizont Alley, (it's near Diagon and Knockturn, and yes this is a canon location). She also doesn't really come out as a lesbian, because her Dad's bisexual and she knows her parents are cool with is, and considering she's pretty futch, leaning butch, she didn't really think anyone who'd be cool with it would think she was straight.
Mellona is only a background character in Magic Awakened, and she really just has friends (Petal Trio: Fatima al-Eyrani and Ananya Gopal), but the year group I've put her in is also astonishingly crowded. Mildred Banks, Chauncey Clearwater, Chris Cresswell, Mortimer Dreadnaught, Eustace Fawley, Coeus Grimshaw, Cole Thistlethwaite, Hannah Wellengood, and funnily enough, her cousin Albert Bellchant. For those that can't be bother to do the maths, she's about three years older than Teddy Lupin.
Mellona's only real characterisation is that she's got a massive sweet tooth, specifically loving custard tarts, which Fatima lightly mocked her for, asking if eating a carrot would kill her, which funnily enough would kill her because she is severely allergic. Hilarious characterisation, Mellona is officially an anxious autistic sweetie pie in my head and I kind of love her. If her patronus is anything but a bee I'll be(e) upset.
