Hanna Barbara's Monchhichis 1983 cartoon is now on the Boomerang App. Based on a 1974 Japanese stuffed monkey toy line from Sekiguchi Corporation and licensed to Mattel in the US. The cartoon is similar in many ways to the 1985 Ewoks cartoon produced by Nelvana. Our fuzzy heroes live in treehouses and are menaced by scruffy-looking Grumplins/Duloks. The series went 13 episodes. The 2017 French Monchhichi series known as Monchhichi Tribe is also available on the Boomerang App and looks to be devoid of the adventure storyline of the Hanna Barbara series. In 1980 an anime series known as Monchhichi Twins was made and consists of 130 6-minute episodes. You aren’t included out of fear. A-specs do not hold the power necessary to force our way into anything. We are included in the LGBT+ community because of our shared history and our shared marginalization under Heteronormativity.

You’re included because you belong.

Remember that the entire discourse is an intracommunity one. Which is to say, everyone involved, especially those arguing for inclusion, are already members of the community. For some, it’s because they’re a-spec and, as has been established, a-specs are currently in the community. But for the vast majority, it’s for other reasons too.
