Different anon here, but I'm picking up what you are putting down. It's clearly light hearted and they are moving forward together.
I think friction can make some readers uncomfortable, is all.
Speaking of uncomfortable friction, I am still eagerly awaiting the bad sexiverse. I hope it's awful.
This is kind of hitting on why I don't really do kidfic honestly because like, I'm a mom in real life. I've done this. And it's weird and stressful and disruptive and there's this point where your kid starts sleeping regularly and you look around at your house and life and are like...how did I get here? Is this all there is? And I don't really read or interact with kidfic because it's always like...here's this precocious funny child that lets one of the characters be sappy about the other but it doesn't resonate at all with me.
And in that lens, these two are really doing fine? Like this doesn't even really seem like friction? They had two weird awkward sex things happen and they immediately both were like "we have to address this because this is weird", and they have their own hangups so their versions of addressing it don't initially look like what would happen in a therapist office but that's because they honestly don't need to be there?
The lore behind Instructions Not Included is hilarious but the bad sex universe is part of it and honestly I just feel so so so bad for those kids it just keeps going wrong. That's a case of bad friction. And then when something goes right something else goes wrong. Poor babies (who are engaged and love each other also!! But neither of them know what's going on and they're both bad at it!)
