Asra watched his parents explain something to Nadia, only half paying attention. They had this under control, honestly. He was only there as a formality. Nadia was reworking plans for the city to make sure everything ran efficiently, and all the citizens were properly taken care of. A noble task, but a daunting one. So naturally she’d surrounded herself with people eager to help. Including Asra.
He leaned back in his chair, gaze shifting over to one of the many bookshelves. The library was an interesting place, with plenty of secrets held in its walls. He wasn’t sure how long it would take someone to go through all of the information there, unraveling secret after secret. Years, he imagined. Though he supposed he could always start, if he really wanted to. He had access to more information than anyone in Vesuvia. Except for the people sitting at that table. And, of course, Lucio.
One of the servants knocked before entering, gaze fixed on Asra. “Asra,” they said, earning his attention. “Lucio wants a moment with you.” Speak of the devil.
Asra stood from his place at the table, saying his goodbyes, before stepping out into the hallway. He turned to Lucio, who, for once in his life, seemed to be waiting. “Can I help you?” He asked. He figured he’d gotten bored. It wasn’t usual.
