Scotland had a dedicated service in the Cairngorms for avalanches. This wasn’t the first he’d experienced and with his love of the Scottish sites, he doubted it would be his last either. So he nodded at the guard. “Powers goin’ t’ be out for a while, might be best to take stock of what resources are actually in here.” they was no way to know exactly how bad the damage ot the exterior of the castle was, or outside the ballroom itself - the force of the avalanche could have cause something to block the door. “Food, water an’ warmth - do ye know if the castle stocks these kind of supplies in each room?” Being a ballroom though, the tablecloths could become makeshift blankets though if required.

Klaus offered the prince in return for the statement, agreeing with each of the words. Since the last event they had had was at the tea room, the guard wasn't sure how much they might have in stock, but it could never hurt to check out. "As far as warmth goes," he trailed off for a second. "I feel like we will need arrangements to make sure that if it comes to a point when we have to spend the night here, no one sleeps on the floor," as impressive as the flooring on the ballroom was, the tiles would absorb all their body heat, and no one wanted to risk suffering from hypothermia. "We need to raid cabinets and storage units to see what we are working with, though I believe they have to have something that we could use for it. Maybe even some tapestry."

“Once or twice. I enjoy these things, but gettin’ so little time wi’ someone can be a little rushed at moments.” Duncan grinned. “Mos’ guys star’ wi’ a cheesy line - do ye’ have a name or can I call ye’ mine?”

"That is one or two times more than me," she pointed out. "Honestly, I don't know how you're supposed to know anyone in five minutes. It feels like you're judging the book by the title," Bee continued, and chuckled at his sentence. "If you hadn't told me it was a line from the start, I would probably be giggling like a fool now. But I'm Bee. Well, not actually Bee, but most people call me Bee."

Rasa walked over to the tall man. She had already thought this situation through. Although people would probably expect her to send her parents a picture of her and her sister for the holidays, that told them little about the idea she might have been going out of her way to meet different people. A picture of her and Eamon would send them the wrong message, so she was down to pretty much anyone willing. The least she might have spoken to them, the less inclined she would feel to explain the situation to the fullest. It was a win-win.

With a pile of sweaters hanging on an arm, she stopped in front of him. "Which one do you like best?" she started, and opened up one with a reindeer, followed by one with snowflakes, then another with a Christmas tree, the one with Christmas lights hanging, the one with Santa and his elves, a snowman, a gingerbread house. Each one seemed worse than the previous one, so the options weren't appealing to anyone with a set of working eyes.

“What do you mean there’s nothing left to eat?”  she kept her voice low and polite, smiling pleasantly at the retainer who had drawn her away from the guests with a subtle gesture. The man’s nervous energy was unmistakable though, and while he kept enough hold of himself not to completely ruin the illusion, she could notice the tension at the corners of his mouth, and his wildly roving gaze, exposing the whites of his eyes. 

Lys half-turned to the tables for a quick inspection, wondering what he was on about. There were still plenty of fresh fruits and nuts, although the cheese platters were more than halfway empty. The cold meats she’d ignored her extreme reticence for and ordered anyway had completely vanished, though. “Are there any more in the kitchen?” her eyes widened minutely, her lower lip catching between her teeth in a nervous gesture, though she struggled to maintain her composure.

“N-no m’lady.”

“Everything we ordered is already gone?” for a split second, she could not understand how that was possible, and then mortification hit and her face suffused with color.

“It wasn’t enough m’lady.”

“You’re telling me this now?” while her voice hadn’t risen much higher since the beginning of their discussion, the last question was spoken at an almost normal level, the sudden ice in her tone making the change in the conversation quite obvious if one was close enough to hear her.
