[HEARTBREAK] prowling the Wild Wild West of the World Wide Web. You have to be truly a console cowboy in order to vanquish her.

Retouched a few pictures from a couple months ago, which really means finding the original files and peeling off the old textures, to apply new textures/effects. Speaking of textures, I used the Image Glitch Tool and the Sunshine Seamless Pattern by Curly_Pat. I also used a Wikimedia Commons picture and a couple of Clip Studio Paint "sand patterns.” For the Windows Error message, I simply used a generator created by Atom Smasher.

I am happy with the picture, even if it is visually busy. I think it is because the retro-computer aesthetics and the bright colors lend a fun if unreal energy to this piece.

Trying to figure out the science-fantasy domestic animals. This slug/thylacine hybrid is the equivalent to dogs for the Hox peoples. They have excellent scent-tracking (they smell through their side-mouths, which they also consume food through) and are generally friendly creatures. They come in many breed-varieties and can bred into fun colors and patterns.

I cannot decide between hooves and paws for them, but I am definitely going to keep the shells (they’re inspired by reduced shells from some species of slugs).

Jean Hox-Zhou Cheshire, the mother of Tyche Zhou. He is a clone of hers; his full legal name is Tyche Zhou Cheshire.

Jean is posthuman senile and lives with other transcendental beings in a specialty retirement home. Tyche has a tenuous relationship with his mother since she wasn’t a great person when she was more humanoid and whole. Despite this, he still cares for her, and visits her from time to time. Such is the logic of emotions.

Bixie (she has no last name) is a safari guide who is frenemies with Tyche Zhou. She guides tourists and other sorts through the forest he lives in/lords over. Despite her garish appearance, she is not actually a centaur. She is a humanoid. She has mobility issues and the animal portion is in fact a (yet unnamed, as of now) exosuit/symbiote, a living wheelchair and a friend.

Behold! An angel! With a very peculiar halo.

I was thinking about [HEARTBREAK] backstory thought it would be interesting if she is an angel. I am not sure if she is a “fallen” angel or “angels don’t think like humans or ascribe to/follow human sensibilities” sort of angel. However, I think the ambiguity is important. She definitely has a celestial quality to her though!

I used the Image Glitch Tool for the background texture.
