Even though I said that I won’t be returning here until sometime in May, which is next month, I’ve got to get this out of my chest. I got to admit it, I really miss it here, and what I miss most of all is reblogging posts regarding my OTP, which is Korrasami. In fact, I am now feeling like I’m forgetting about them, but I don’t want to.
Not only that, but I haven’t seem to make any progress on not getting discouraged or disheartened by negative opinions on the things that I like. In fact, it’s been getting worse, because even though I am trying my best, I seem to be getting flashbacks and reminders about the discouraging or disheartening negative opinions on the things that I like. The one thing that I should've done is that whenever that I see someone elses’ negative opinions on the things that I like, I should’ve just ignored them instead of getting on to the person or people who voice his/her/their opinion(s) or even make a post just to complain about it.
And furthermore, I’ve been kind of edgy lately, because even though I haven’t watched Little Witch Academia yet, I get upset whenever I see people ship Akko with Andrew, mainly because I have an interest in Dianakko (which is the pairing between Diana and Akko). I know Dianakko basically dominates the LWA fanbase anyway and I have no reason to complain, but it just annoys the heck me whenever I see something related to the pairing between Akko and Andrew.
Because the third and final episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm is coming out in two days, I am brimming with lots of worries and concerns, mainly because I’m afraid that the Life is Strange fandom is going to be shattered (because it’s already broken ever since Before the Storm episode two came out) after it comes out (especially because of the AmberPrice vs. Pricefield ship war will get even worse than what it already is). Now I haven’t played the first two episodes yet, but I am really concerned and worried about what’s gonna happen to this fandom.
Since I have a lot to say, I’m adding in a break below this paragraph. (If you are a full-on AmberPrice shipper or a person who enjoys BtS, you prabaly wouldn’t want to read this, but at least hear me out first).
Personally, I don’t fully hate AmberPrice, but right now, I am flip-flopping between treating it like Zu//tara (where that I don’t hate the pairing; I just don’t ship it (I am a Kataang shipper myself)) and treating it like Mak//orra (where I outright despise it based on evidence brought upon in canon (I am a Korrasami shipper myself)), and right now, I’m leaning towards the latter. I have read another post who also has worries and concerns about what episode three of Before the Storm will bring, and I do agree that I just don’t see how the bond between Rachel Amber and Chloe Price is so special (apart from either a teenage crush or fanservice (in which I get the suspiction that’s the only reason why Deck Nine did Before the Storm and treated that relationship as such)), especially if you consider what Rachel has done in the original game (which lying to Chloe, sleeping with Frank Bowers for drugs, and sleeping with Jefferson just to leave Arcadia Bay). However, people who ship AmberPrice (and has got a new respect for Rachel) usually calls those people out, and claiming that Rachel Amber is as innocent as a lamb, whereas I trust her like a guy with a gas can in one hand, a pack of cigarettes in the other, and a lighter in the pocket. Also, I have heard that they might even break the part of Rachel’s character that was established in the original game. I am well aware that Before the Storm takes place three years before the events of the original game and anything could happen before the time of the original game
As for the pairing between Max and Chloe, what made their bond special is because Max and Chloe knew each other since childhood, and in the original game, Max would do anything (including sacrificing Arcadia Bay) to save Chloe’s life (in case you’re wonder what ending I picked when I played the original game, I picked the “Sacrifice Arcadia Bay (Bae over Bay)” ending, because you can always find another town, but you can’t find another person like Chloe). After Before the Storm came out, though, those people seem to villainize Max Caulfield for leaving Chloe after she moved to Seattle when Chloe was going through her “un-sweet sixteen” phase of her life, and seem to forget that three years after the events of Before the Storm, Max actually does return to Arcadia Bay.
What worries the most about the Life is Strange fandom is this so-called “AmberPrice Legion,” simply because, judging from a 4chan post, they claim that they are “the end of everything,” and the only reason why Pricefield shippers (myself included) only exist is because they “allowed it,” and now they will “end” because they “demand it,” as they “impose order on the chaos of Pricefield cuteposting,” and says that the “extinction of Pricefield shippers is inevitable.” What worries me about that 4chan post is that they are planning on going to war with Pricefield shippers, so I asked the person who started this whole “AmberPrice Legion” thing is their intention is killing Pricefield shippers, even though the person said that their intention is so that AmberPrice can get more recognition, but I don’t fully believe that that person, because I get the suspiction that they are actually gonna do it, which worries me to no end.
Whew! Boy, that was a lot of typing there, simply because I have so many worries and concerns regarding the Life is Strange fandom, especially because I’ve reached my breaking point with the fandom, all because this so-called “AmberPrice Legion” is planning on waging war with people who ship Pricefield, myslef included. I know it’s most been about the competition of ships, but also because a lot of those people are planning on ruining the canon that was brought upon in the original game. I know it may not be as bad as make out, but I am gonna distance myself from the Life is Strange fandom, because it has turned into a cesspit of hate and war instead of love and peace like it used to be.
Because of what I did, I am leaving the fandom, because I don’t feel welcome anymore.
I would like to apologize for my posts being in a hostile tone towards AmberPrice and Before the Storm. I’m just afraid that I might end up being in the new minority (which are those who still ship Pricefield). Not only that, but the problem is that I don’t even hate AmberPrice or it’s shippers (maybe except the over-zealous ones). I’m afraid of change, and I am worried that if I played Before the Storm, I would end up abandoning Pricefield, which is on my “Endless OTP List.”
The main reason why my Life is Strange-related posts are in that tone is because I'm disappointed in the fandom, as I thought I knew the fandom better than what it is now. Also, I did say that ship wars are stupid and are nothing more than an excuse to be crappy to one each other, but I wasn’t supposed to just say it; I was supposed to live by it, especially with what I did in the WordGirl and Cyberchase fandoms. Now, I feel like I’ve been publicly ridiculed by the entire fandom, and I felt hurt about it.
However, that doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop enjoying the work, as I am getting Life is Strange on Playstation 4 (as well as a Playstation 4 Pro) for Christmas, but I may not play it, because I felt the fandom ruined it for me, especially because of the fact that they seem to enjoy the prequel more.
But, yeah, you won’t see my face in this fandom anymore, because I don’t feel welcome here anymore. Bye.
I don’t understand why people who played Life is Strange: Before the Storm like to pretend that the events of the original game never happened. I might get a bunch of hate for saying this, but if I do get around to playing Before the Storm (which I might not, because I don’t want to abandon Pricefield), I will replay the original game afterwards.
I know I’m on break, but I don’t know why some people on Tumblr hate the Disney movie Frozen so much, even though the movie has been released four years ago, and they’ve released an animated short that was shown before the Disney Pixar movie Coco. I mean, seriously, I don’t get it.
This is a little update to see how I’m doing while I’m away from Tumblr.
In short, I am not feeling okay! Every time I try to forget about what’s been bothering me, it crops up again. What has been bothering me is all of the negative opinions on the things that I like as I listed on this post and then some. The reason why I can’t seem to enjoy things anymore is because I’m too influenced by other peoples’ negative opinions on things that I like. I’m not even sure if I can make it until Christmas, so I’m thinking about going with the latest time I’ll be back, which is sometime after New Year’s.
What makes it worse is that even though I said I’m taking a break from Tumblr, I seem to go to Tumblr anyway on a computer that doesn’t have StayFocused (which is the computer I’m making this post on).
If I knew the Life is Strange fandom was going to get this toxic, I never should’ve been involved in it in the first place!
When I get around to playing Before the Storm, I still want to be a Pricefield shipper, and not be a person that retcons the events of the original game. Is that really too much to ask?
