General Book Stats
A chart showing the number of stages, amount of clothing, and number of events of each currently released DUTP book, updated up to Code: Whalefall. The books are shown in order of release.
Some outliers in this chart are very obvious. Gotham Memoirs is the only book with four chapters so naturally it also has the most stages, events, and clothing, while one chapter books like Saga of Viera, Princess Sissi, Swan Lake, and Hela’s Compass have some of the lowest scores. The introductory books, Queen Marie and Magic Lamp, both score high on events and clothing because they serve as tutorials and help new players fill out their closet. Within these patterns we can see a few outliers.
Ghost Manor and Ancient Dreams were both surprising for the amount of stage events, surpassing even the introductory books and being second only to Gotham Memoirs. Some books have quite a spike in clothing items, such as Have You Seen Claudia?, Ancient Dreams, Golden Age, and Code Whalefall; for newer books this can be partially explained by new types of clothing items (the bracelets and gloves being separate slots is the biggest culprit) but for the earlier ones it appears to be an indicator of more effort being put into creating unique outfits.
Keep in mind that these statistics are meant to show general patterns, not make specific judgements on a book being “bad” or “good”. More factors go into a book’s quality than what I can graph. I just find it interesting looking at the patterns across DUTP’s development.
