This piece was finally done in February. And I've to admit, I'm quite proud of it.

New project in spring was Kíli's sword. And that was the most dusty project I did so far. ;-)

Durincrafts' new project
The moment I finished the last leather work I plunged myself in the next project, completely covering my place with dust. Any suggestions what that is going to be?

I can't believe it, the branding work is done. And I'm so glad I didn't slip. The pattern is subtle, but as so often these little details bring the work to life.

That's the final test with the cookie-can-tool. Had a bit of a heart beat when I branded the pattern. I had just one chance, if I'd slipped the leather would have been ruined… but the first triangles worked fine.

Thanks to the cookie can I managed to create a heat resistant mask to use the branding tool on the leather. Here is the first version of the tool, the first test on a leather sample and the final version of the tool. It was a bit tricky to do the tiny little triangle in the corner. To get the shape right I had to diddle it with an extra stripe of metal. But now it looks perfect.

Ready for the next part of the bandolier, going over the shoulder. Fortunately that is a bit shorter… . Btw… I love the crafting chaos on my table.
