He took Frisk’s words in carefully, shuddering at their dead tone. Unlike what he’d tried, the boy’s words spoke near directly to his own soul, shaking Claus deeply. He…he couldn’t be right, could he?
“…that’s wrong too.” Claus had forgotten that humans functioned under the assumption that he was also offered the freedom of death–the fact that they spoke so casually of it almost shocked him.
“…why would they blame me….?” This person…they were having issues, they had to have been. “…I–…I can’t…k-kill Chara.”
-- The boy tilted his head at Claus’ words, watching every single one of his movements through his SOULless eyes. While the current timeline had made his fighting abilities atrophy, he was aware enough that he’d be able to defend himself if the other lashed out at him.
「❤」”... wrong?” An empty, hollow chuckle sounded from the boy’s throat, and he shook his head, his tone somewhat condescending. “... No, you’re the one who’s wrong. In this world, it’s KILL OR BE KILLED.”
There was a certain weight that his words carried, and as he said them, he pulled out a knife, its sharp edge glinting in the light.
“... You have to kill Chara,” he said in an emotionless tone. “... or I’ll kill you.”
