A/N: I haven't played The Quarry in about 4 months so forgive me if he's a little ooc.
It was a starry night, you had just finished listening to Ryan's stories by the campfire. You started to put out the fire as Ryan took the kids back to the cabins. Dylan also stayed back to clean up the wrappers and the kids uneaten snacks.
As the flames died down, you turned to Dylan, "I was thinking, we should stay out a little longer." Dylan looks up at you, confused. You point up at the lit up sky. "Go stargazing for a bit. Before we have to go to sleep."
He quickly glanced behind him, making sure all the campers were out of sight, turning back to you with a grin. "Fuck yeah."
The two of you walked the rocky path to the boat house, conversations of the busy day the two of you had, flowing. It didn't feel like long until you had made it, stopping at the edge of the deck, quickly taking a seat with your legs dangling just above the water.
"It's been a while." You hear Dylan sigh beside you, you nod. "Yeah, we don't get much time to ourselves like this." You mumble as you stretch your neck, arms raised. As you lower your arms you take a glimpse at the brunette beside you, his eyes entranced by the bright lights.
Your eyes follow his as you lie back against the cool wood, Dylan turning to you at the sound. It takes a few seconds before he copies your movements, the both of you now staring at the stars.
"The views are so pretty on nights like this." Your eyes wander across the different constellations above you, trying to form familiar shapes. "It really is." You turn to see Dylan staring back at you, his eyes gazing upon your own. "You're really pretty." A wide goofy grin finds place on his face as he says that.
"You're such a romantic." You chuckle at his antics, playfully rolling your eyes. He rolls over onto his stomach as he leans his face closer to yours. "I know." He whispered, his breath grazing upon your lips. You reach over and rest your hand onto his neck, slowly leaning in as the two of you share a kiss.
As he pulls back, he moves to rest his head against your chest. "We should head back before anyone notices we're gone." Dylan sighs. "Let's just stay like this for a little longer." You whisper against his forehead, before placing a kiss against it.
You both like against each other as the night grows darker, making use of the shirt time the two of you had left that night.
A/N: Completely unrelated, but I couldn't miss the opportunity to make that the title (It's a song from the game in the not-copyrighted version.) I listen to it too often, even now.
Also, would you guys like us to put summaries at the start of our fics?
A/N: This can be read with any of The Quarry boys, this is meant to be in Y/N’s POV but I guess the character of your choice also works. I’m not sure if this counts as angst, but I tried my best.
There are a lot of mentions of blood, death, gore and hallucinations. Please be wary and don’t read this fic if the content is too harsh!
You couldn’t believe he was gone. It felt like just yesterday the cops were pulling you away from your lover’s deformed corpse. His blood staining your hands and clothes as all you could smell was what remained of him.
You still smelt it now, having spent so many hours in those crimson-filled clothes gave you enough time to commit it to memory. You often smelt it on nights like this.
Cold. Dark. Silent.
You feel the sticky blood crawl its way over your arms, it irks you how real it felt. Just like that night. Your eyes begin to fog, vision becoming indefinable as it grows dark, the blurred corpse of your former lover appearing. Your clothes feel tight, compressing your chest. It gets harder to breathe as the rotting smell fills your lungs. You gasp, voice hoarse as you try to regain composure.
The body beside you starts to become more visible, every gorey detail visible on his tormented face. Your heart aches as he lies there, lifeless. Your eyes swell with tears, the drops falling in abundance as you stare at him, unable to look away.
You watch as his eyes shoot open, your heart leaping out of your throat as he starts to stand, unbalanced and deformed. You can’t help but feel a little joyous, seeing him alive, as mangled as he may be.
Until the screaming starts.
A blood-curdling screech rips from his throat. Blood follows as it drips down his neck, the screams turning into loud gurgling as he starts to drown in his own blood. His scarred arm lifts, his torn-apart finger pointing right at you. The gurgling stops, a few strained coherent words falling from his tongue.
“This is all your fault-”
The sound of a door breaks you out of your trance.
“Y/N..” It’s a hushed voice, a familiar one. “Is it happening again?” You dig your head into your hands, wiping the tears flowing down your cheeks as you mutter. “Yeah.. yeah…” The bed dips as you feel the girl take a seat beside you, her hand rubbing against your arm as she whispers comforting words.
A/N: We’ve got a couple of our longest fics coming out soon (Hopefully this week) Including a Part 2 to the Hogwarts Legacy Yule Ball fic! All feedback is appreciated, I rarely write angst and I’m not all to good at it.
Lunch had finished and I was in charge of cleaning up the tables, just as soon as I put away some dirty plates I heard Kaitlyn call my name. I look over to her as she nudges me "Hey Dyl, have you thought about cutting your hair? It's gotten quite overgrown." I hadn't noticed until now, I lifted a hand and felt the hair that now fell down to my ears. "I never realized it had gotten this long" I shrug. Kaitlyn smirks as she lightly punches my arm "Maybe you could ask Y/N for a trim? The campers always go to him for haircuts." I feel my cheeks burn a little at the suggestion "Why not" I pause "do you know where he is?" "Pretty sure he's on dish duty-" "Thanks Kaitlyn" Kaitlyn playfully rolls her eyes and chuckles as I grab a few dirty glasses and rush to the kitchen.
I walk into the kitchen, barely balancing the dishes until I feel a hand brush against mine, taking the weight off my arms. "Need a little help?" I hear Y/N giggle, I flush as I stumble my words "Yeah haha, I uh, I guess I took too many at once um" "I appreciate the help Dylan, but you know you could've just left them on the table outside the kitchen." I watch him walk to the sink, carefully setting the dishes in the sink. "Yeah I know, I just wanted to uh, come ask you something." Y/N hums as he takes the first plate and rinses it. "Well uh, I've noticed that my hair has grown quite a bit, and seeing that the campers come to you for help with their hair, I thought you could uh give me a small trim?" Y/N waits a second before responding "Yeah for sure, I'll meet you at your cabin at 7?" He looks over to me and I nod "I'll see you then" I walk out of the kitchen and bump into Kaitlyn, "Soo?" She coos "He said he'll do it"
I was currently in the radio shack playing some of my favorite tunes before talking on the microphone "Alright campers, we have a couple optional night time activities for you tonight, We have campfire stories with Ryan or if you prefer something quiet and chill, Abi has her art class open until 9:30. If these don't toot your horn, you're free to stay in your cabin until bedtime. Have fun campers and remember, 'What doesn't kill you, will make you stronger'" (I know there's nothing that actually says that kids got to choose what they wanted to do at night and nothing about Dylan announcing it but I just wanted to put it in.) I turn the microphone off and glance at the clock for the 20th time this hour, 6:52pm. I walk out the shack and lock the door behind me, continuing to the cabins.
I'm about to sit on my bed when I hear a knock at the door, I rush to it dusting my clothes before opening it. I feel my face warm up as I look at the boy holding a suitcase in front of me, "Is now a good time" His voice makes my heart skip a beat "Uh yeah, now's great" I stiffen as he walks past me and into the bathroom, he starts to set everything up and I take that as an opportunity to calm myself down. "Hey Dylan, everything's ready" he calls from the bathroom, I quickly scurry to the bathroom, and stand awkwardly waiting for him to tell me what to do. He smiles and gestures to the chair he had placed Infront of the mirror, I quickly take a seat and he chuckles "How short did you want to go?" I feel his fingers glide through my hair, gently pulling it up. "I uh, um I just want an inch or 2 off all of it." I see my face redden. "Yeah alright, is that all you want?" He combs my hair back with his fingers "I uh, yeah. yeah that's all." He smiles and nods as he starts to part my hair pulling certain layers up to see how much to cut off. My knees buckle as I feel his hot breath hit the back of my neck, I look up at him through the mirror, cheeks burning harder as I watch his focused face. I can't help but to shiver at the feeling of his hands running through my hair and his breath kissing my neck, I let out shaky breaths as I try to keep my cool.
I feel him step away and I release a breath I didn't know I had been holding. He turns the chair around and now I'm face to face with his chest, he puts his hand against my jaw and turns it side to side, there is no way he can't see the heat on my face now. He does a few more cuts to the front bringing his face even closer to mine, I sweat as I now feel his breath against my lips, he puts the scissors down and runs his fingers through my hair again. My hands shake as I decide to just go for it, I smash my lips against his, grabbing the bottom of his shirt with my sweaty hands. I feel fear bubble inside me as he stiffens, but all that fear immediately gets washed away when he gently pulls the hair on the back of my head and brings himself closer. We only split apart once we couldn't hold our breaths any longer. He rested his forehead against mine and whispered "You don't know how long I've waited for that" I chuckled and leaned my head into his shoulder.
