REDRAWING THE LUNCHBOX pt. II

The Pterodactylish thing needs more shading, I guess, but I'll leave it for now so I can move on to the next side.

The Pterodactyl Thing/Pteranodon is a specific lift from Jonny Quest

The Pterodactyl Thing is TURU THE TERRIBLE from Johnny Quest, usually depicted in purple and black in the opening credits, sometimes with white details. Turu the Terrible was on the cover of the Season 3 Vbros DVD set and appeared in-episode in Venture Libre

Back to the lunch box—

Here's Billy's lunchbox as it appeared on screen in ESCAPE TO THE HOUSE OF MUMMIES.

And the produced lunchbox made to hold Rusty Venture and Jonas Venture toys for SDCC '11 (Signed by Doc and Jackson and Urbaniak, found on Reddit)

As many as these get uploaded to eBay, I've NEVER seen one that wasn't photographed like shit. I need accurate colors to rip off!

UNFINISHED ILLUSTRATION

I found a whole archive of unfinished/work-in-progress Triple Threat/Billy's mom. Lots of alternate poses. Is this interesting? The finished version of Triple Threat is posted here and old Mama Rose here.

Beltin' a tune, cabaret-style attack. By 1980, the glasses get really big.

I recycled the prom background, so sue me.

Offstage, Billy's mom's hairstyle icon: UK PM Margaret Thatcher

VBros canonically depicts Mama Rose as a young super-heroine in a flashback and as an old lady in "the present" but she's never shown at "momming" age, when she was actively (over)parenting Billy.

(I subscribe to the fan theory that she was a single parent.)

This is all my conjecture, based on the fashion of the late '70s-early '80s, her own social conservativism (she's a Boomer who hates rock music), and the unifying fashion themes between Triple Threat and Rose Whalen (old): distinctive glasses & roses.

She's probably going to be the next Venture tarot card, when I get around to it.

Strength is kindness subduing raw emotion— taming a lion with gentleness and the lion is into it (look at that tongue).

The Diamond Dog is a "present day" GCI weapon and Triple Threat is from a flashback, so maybe they don't go together, but the dog is the size of Rider-Waite's shrimpy lion so it makes sense.
