Lesson 2: Thursday 27th September 2018
Week 1 - BA1a: Dynamics - 2D Pendulum
Today we did a lesson on Frames. We learned about Extremes, Passing Positions, and In-between. Extremes are also known as Key Frames. Passing Positions are also known as Breakdown Frame.
Looking back at one of my earlier post, it mentions the 12 Principles of Animation, the Extremes, Passing Positions and In-betweens come under some of the 12 principles. We didn’t really go into much detail on this today.
Our first task today was creating an animated pendulum using our new knowledge of Extremes, Breakdown Frames and In-betweens.
My first attempt on this was much better than my pendulum animating experience from the first workshop. I think this because the new animation was more believable as I applied my new knowledge of Frames. Although the new attempt was better, I still need to make the pendulum movement more flowing.
More importantly for the first time in my life, I used a peg bar a fascinating item, and cel sheets for doing the drawings for the animation. It was very exciting using this equipment for the first time. I feel a step closer to entering the world of animation.
We had a 2nd task to do as well as the first one. The second task was to make an animation that had the pendulum stopping. We could make it stop any creative way. I still haven’t gotten to this task yet because I was making a better version of the first task. I am sure I will be able to do it tomorrow.

Today i tired to go over my animation for my two ways of moving where from my group discussion that the beginning with the head turning it was found that head turned to fast and that he action wasn't very clear so i tired to go back and add in more in between however found that design didn't work the head end up looking very robotic and nothing human like. so have decide to keep it how it is as the message in which i am trying to get across with the heart beating is works.
Weekly summary 05/11/2018-09/11/2018
Everyone has been Everest had to challenges as the cat design Foshan hasn’t gone so well at first but like I found I had to keep working on everything into the other to get somewhere where I want to be so interns about the walk cycle I know what I want to go and I’ve gone from Siri I wanted him to walk but now I finally have a good result boarding and adding character and find it really interesting exploring the way I want in terms of his building his results of his personality et cetera from that even doing a card phases the cheeky colour sassy kind of character but he’s really funny but Vidicon the inside same times he has 30 aspects to him. but I found like I have all different prices and retired build and develop my character I have found that even with cartridges and you have to think of all the aspects for the character in order to design right because I’ve gone for a light weight all these parts of him even when adding colour they had a lot to catch also a lot of things and audience woman but is a character main story and that something that I want to betray in my right so that my character and he does stand out.
For my other areas I haven’t am Life drawing and I’ve missed an afternoon session on Wednesday as I was ill so but I’m going to pick up a class about it next week and four and going to take a lesson outside of union just so I can catch up and understand more like giant but I can’t do research on waiting on Lindy to sponsor in terms of what she thinks amount for one channel Eris prove it I have booked a session with her on Tuesday and then find I’m at the FedEx and basically done side need to go through a works do you have 80 some reason trying to develop and see how that as I’m trying to put everything together
This was a second iteration I only half made for the walk cycle. The idea was to add some secondary animations to the walk cycle by changing the character to a Death Korps of Krieg Guardsman from Warhammer 40k as they have many different loose pieces of clothing on them such as their trench coat, gas mask tube and backpack.
This was my first walk cycle which I created using the Dragonframe software and paper sketches. The cycle was a very important lesson for me as I will be using the walk cycle to create future animations a lot, especially since I have a keen interest in character animation.
