“WOWIE, UNDYNE! All THIS is human history!?” Papyrus’ eyes boggled as he eyed the comic in his hand. He breathed in amazement. Sure, they didn’t have any sort of magical attacks, but some could shoot lasers out of their eyes! And some had powers to control electricity! hmmm...

“Hmmm...” Papyrus put a hand under his chin, looking thoughtful, “Perhaps I should ask Dr. Alphys if she has any lasers. Jape the humans with their own special attacks! It would be...” he leaped on the couch dramatically, “PAPYRUS’ LASER MAZE OF DEADLY JAPES!”

It was mostly distraction and neglect that left it for so long, but Asgore still felt quite guilty for allowing such a gap to form between visits. Still, the king fretted that perhaps with the future as it was... that Undyne would be hard to connect with again. He was, no longer as much of a mentor to her as he used to be, and his anxieties have wormed away at his value as a friend. Still, the text was sent for Undyne to be invited for dinner in the old castle, and though he wasn’t sure if she would come, he still made the casserole that he knew she had loved as a child.The king’s house smelled of spices, potatoes and chicken as the meal cooked, and Asgore himself was lounging mindlessly in the living room as he waited and fretted for Undyne’s arrival. What would she say...? Would things, be awkward now that he was stagnant down here...? His hands rubbed over his muzzle and eyes, tiredly trying to look at the clock. Nearly time now...
