Little Period Witch Tips
Guess who’s on their period again, lads and lasses and lays? Yup, it’s me. So in honor of the crimson flood roiling forth, I’m writing down some tips I use to make the periods more bearable. Some are witchy, others are not, and they’re all here to make this more bearable.
Tip #1: Can’t take Midol because you’re allergic to some of the ingredients? Look into Pamprin! My mom wasn’t able to take Midol because of allergies, but she didn’t have a reaction to Pamprin, so now she finally has a pain reliever for her period!
Tip #2: Got your relief medicine? Great, now charge it up with hematite, amethyst, and bloodstone! All three of these crystals helped me with my own period, for different reasons - hematite helps with cramps and aches, as does amethyst, and bloodstone is a well-known period supplement.
Tip #3: GET YOURSELF A HEATING PAD. This thing will save you from many cramps that pass under the radar of the medicine you take. Enchant or charge it if you want!
Tip #4: Chamomile and cinnamon both help (magically) with period pains, so make yourself a nice hot beverage! Make sure you put sugar in, because pure chamomile tea doesn’t always taste the best. Personally, I drink honey vanilla chamomile tea - honey also helps with menstrual cramps, and vanilla just wraps it all together in a little bow. There are other kinds of natural remedies you can use for this problem, but make sure you do research into the ones you want to use!
Tip #5: Get yourself a good and sturdy bra. If you’re like me and have chest dysphoria, wear your favorite non-form-fitting clothes. Trust me, the support is great for painful boobs.
Tip #6: On the note of dysphoria, that’s another thing amethyst is good for! As listed in my Dysphoria-Relieving Crystal Masterpost, amethyst is a common recommendation due to its ability to calm and relieve stress. So if you suffer from dysphoria through your period, this stone and others on the list can help you!
Tip #7: Eat a lot of meat. You’re losing a lot of blood, so you need to eat a lot to make up for it. Meat is one of the best choices for this purpose, but I’m sure other foods could work as well.
Tip #8: Remember how I said you could charge your medicine and heating pad? You can do the same to your packages of pads! You could also enchant them to be quieter if you need it.
