Strong is the force.... take them to see shows, exhibitions, to the fair or Comic-Con, some of these aren't strictly for kids, but they do appeal to the little kid inside us, so actual children will find something that is interesting to them. Also exposure to crowds, other people and kids and new situations is a great practice in socialisation. If they feel overwhelmed it's O.K, just try to stay a couple of minutes more, maybe they will calm down, if not take them home or for a walk then home.
