The silly shadows of ourselves
j'adore - fever ray - the wolf
From the moment I heard just a tease of this track in the online trailer for the Red Riding Hood movie, I fell in love with it. I really wanted to see the film mostly to hear how it was used and despite being fairly positive the movie would suck majorly.
I've actually not seen the movie still, but I've listen the hell out of this song. I took my ipod out back, rested on the swing and let one leg dangle so I could push myself slightly, rocking under the jewel blue sky, breathing in the scent of lemons and the thrill of those two colours contrasted against one another. This song on repeat, and the evening unfurled. I was the heroine in my own epic adventure. A raven-haired warrior pressing through a snow-storm.
I recalled the beautiful Danielle Dax in The Company of Wolves.
Naturally, a wolf story is incomplete without a naked and wild Danielle Dax creeping about it in.The wolf transformation scene in this film will always stick vividly in my memory.
But, back to the music. This song was even more than I could have expected. I waited a long time (it seemed) to hear it in its entirety, and I can't get enough of it.
It also reminded me of Tate's Post Apocalyptic Little Red Riding Hood from the show Face Off.
Howl on, my little pretties.
Fever Ray - The Wolf Eyes black, big paws and Its poison and Its blood And big fire, big burn Into the ashes And no return Woooooooooooooooooooooo We took you right From your mother’s home Our temple, your tomb Can be your pick Not pawned The poison is blood Wooooooooooooo We’ve been calling Black paw who’s soaring We go out in the morning Down the trail To somewhere You are the sound that I hear We are not standing We are falling Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
