❝for the man in my life.❞ ♥
❝Now… I know you’re probably wondering why the hell I have you out here in the drizzling rain. On the sidewalk. We’re taking a stroll! Hey, don’t look at me like that–! Avert your glare, mister. You know, we’re walking into a super huge chapter of our life. We have one child, and we’re gonna be blessed with another one. That’s beautiful, isn’t it? We’re gonna move into a nicer, more spacious home. Everything’s falling into place, finally. Finally, I think we’re really starting this whole settling down thing.❞ He swings their arms, taking in a deep breath; the cool, misty atmosphere is something he enjoys. It’s much better than being out in the sunlight.
Riluo lets out a low whistle at some of the cars, casting a glance at Ezra to see if he’s paying attention to them. Then, he continues on with his little rant. ❝These people have really nice cars, don’t they? Oh, hey… Look at that one, over there.❞ Raising an arm, the boy points to a beautiful Bentley Mulsanne, the black vehicle adorned with a big, red bow. Slowly approaching the car, Riluo grabs at a little gift tag hanging from one of the side view mirrors, reading the printed text out loud– he makes sure to give his boyfriend a coy smile.
❝Oh, look. Your name is on this tag. For my wonderful boyfriend, Ezra Landon Park. Well, whaddya know. It seems as though I’M the one who purchased this car. Wild, right?❞ The way he unveils the surprise is so nonchalant, it’s almost adorable. ❝Go ahead. Look in your jacket pocket. I already put the keys in there! Check out that diamond interior. The built in wifi. I really hope you like this car… I think it fits us, as a family. Also, isn’t it super stylish? I don’t think you’ll see another one of these on the streets. It’s a unique luxury vehicle. Um… Anyway! Let’s take this baby for a spin, we’ll pick up Narae from Giselle noona’s house and we can go out on the town.❞
RILUO WAS 100% CORRECT, he was questioning Riluo’s out of the blue suggestion to take a stroll out in the drizzling rain. In fact, from the front door to the sidewalk, he had been excessively whining and complaining how it was hot, humid, disgusting, and just overall, not a good weather to ‘stroll around’, but of course, Riluo always won. “I hope you know, I hate you so much right now.” He grumbled, snuggling his shades comfortably on his nose bridge – don’t ask. Ezra always wore sunglasses regardless of weather.
“You do realize, we could have this conversation at home. In the comforts of our bed? But yes, I do agree. Things are slowly starting to settle, which is always reassuring.” He pitched in, gently wrapping his arm around his boyfriend’s waist. Why not? If they were out to grab some fresh air, might as well make it romantic. Releasing a sigh, he averted his attention to the row of cars parked along the street. They really were nice cars. Cars he used to own; cars he always dreamt of owning. But it was okay; he had a family now. His money was now his family’s money, so impulse buying was no longer an option. Cars… Well he had a fine share of opportunities, it was time to move on. So, he did. He looked away; too afraid that his facial features were going to tell otherwise, but immediately as if pulled by a magnet, he directed his attention to the beautiful Bentley Mulsanne parked along the side. Riluo was probably pointing because of the obnoxious red bow on top, but sentence that followed — it refused to click. Name tag? His name? He… Who…. I purchased? Who? Jacket pocket? Almost instinctively, he searched his jacket pocket, reaching for the car key hidden inside. So if he pressed unlock… ?
Holy Shit.
Then, it all made sense. “No. No. I can’t accept this.” He backed away from the car. “No Riluo, I can’t. I don’t need this. I can buy a minivan. We can’t afford… I can’t afford this.” It was a constant battle, his body wanted to touch, but his heart said no. How could he accept this? This wasn’t some expensive shoe or furniture? It was a fucking car. A fucking Bentley Mulsanne. Basically a total of three full year pharmacist salary to afford something like this.
But … He walked inside. Silently touching everything. He may have had a disappointed, pissed off expression, but deep down. Hidden underneath the complicated acceptance was the biggest, cheesiest smile of all times.
“ Psst. Come in. It’s cozy in here. ” Then quickly, he shyly rolled up the window after whispering the words ‘thank you, and I love you.’
