I personally find E’Rah to be one of the most interesting characters in Zexal (really, Yu-Gi-Oh as a whole.) Not because of anything she did (she showed up out of nowhere, rambled on about despair and how hope is stupid and then lost. Pretty standard as far as ygo endbosses go,) but because of the circumstances of her creation.
For most of the Zexal manga, the main antagonist was this guy:
He’s the reason why those spider Numbers exist.
So get this: one day, one of the artists started groaning about having to draw Kyoji over and over again, so the director made up E’Rah and just changed things from there.
It was the climax of the story and it got changed on the spot because someone thought Kyoji was too boring.
Also, does anybody else think E’Rah kinda looks like a female Don Thousand? What with the hair and that mark on her forehead that’s kinda like his third eye.
Speaking of odd stories involving Zexal characters, anybody remember Alco? He gave Kaito a powerful card called The Closed Eight. Or rather, that was what was supposed to happen, but for some reason it never did and both Alco and that card vanished into the ether.
Stories like this and what happened with 5D’s and Arc-V really make me anxious to see what oddness is gonna happen with Vrains. And you know something is gonna happen. The Powers That Be are clearly annoyed that this series is still going on.
