e.l.f. skincare review
e.l.f has a whole skincare line but I'm reviewing their Hydrating Serum $12 and Daily Hydration Moisturizer $8 . My skintype is dry but the whole line is for all skintypes.
Hydrating Serum - Contains jojoba, aloe, vitamin e , shea butter, and grape. This serum feels like a lightweight moisturizer but is not heavy on the skin. It did hydrate my skin and plump it up a bit and I liked it with and without their moisturizer. Overall I think this was a good and simple hydrating serum for the price. I give this an 7.5 / 10 but I still wouldn't repurchase because I like my serums to do more than one thing. The ingredients in this we're good but simple, just hydration which can be useful or not depending on you.
Daily hydration Moisturizer - Contains jojoba, aloe, shea butter, cucumber, grape, and vitamin e. Pretty impressed with this moisturizer, it's a lightweight cream texture with a light refreshing scent. I think it provided just the right amount of hydration without feeling greasy, it also has a tacky texture so it would feel nice under makeup. I do think this would work for all skintypes except maybe dry if you just count on moisturizer but if you layer skincare like me it would prob work. Overall an 8.5/ 10 and would repurchase.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Support PETA
This is probably old news to some of you, but I just found it out myself, so I thought I would share in case anyone else is also unaware.
e.l.f cosmetics support and donate money to PETA.
In case you weren’t aware, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is (in)famous for their sensationalist anti-cruelty campaigns, including giving out “comics” to children that portray their mothers and fathers as psychotic murderers and creating a knock-off Pokemon flash game to try and drive home their belief that the Pokemon franchise is a series of heartless pit-fighting simulators.
More seriously, however, PETA is also a firm believer in “do as we say, not as we do”. Despite claiming -- loudly and vigorously -- to be against all forms of animal cruelty, there is a lot of documentation of them euthanizing upwards of 90% of the animals they “rescue”... or, in some cases, outright steal. There are many people on Tumblr who have documented PETA’s unconscionable cruelty and hypocrisy better than I can.
The point is, e.l.f. cosmetics tacitly condone this behavior with their support and their donations. I, for one, will no longer support e.l.f. or buy their products, and I beg everyone else to reconsider their cosmetic choices too.
