The focus of this elegant sterling silver pendant is a rare topaz crystal from the Topaz Mountain area in Utah. This unusual stone is sherry to black colored where other Topaz from the area are generally all sherry colored or clear. It's dark coloration is due to minute inclusions of other minerals, which it crystalized around. These include magnetite, hematite, titanium and tungsten minerals and sometimes a little tourmaline. It exhibits the orthorhombic crystal system of true topaz and to top things off, it has a pretty twin and it is slightly magnetic (from magnetite inclusions).
