I rarely share my thrifted antique finds but I feel like it today.
Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. No. 99 and 98 AKA Tree of Life with Hand compote, c. 1879. You can see it has a faint lavender color, which happens to some old glass when it's been in a sunny place and UV radiation turns manganese in the glass purple. This is considered a defect by serious collectors and I rarely buy anything with even the slightest tint. But this piece has been sitting in this shop for months and I finally took it as a sign I was meant to buy it, and it was really cheap so whatever.
Adams & Co. 130 Sensation AKA Thousand Eye plate, 1885. Most mass-produced American glass from the 19th Century was colorless, with blue, green, and canary (uranium) yellow being the most common, purple somewhat less common colors when a line was produced in color. So it tends to get snapped up quickly by collectors or cost more than I like to pay when I come across it. This one was probably at or maybe just a little under market price, but I bought it anyway. The Glass Goddess requires the occasional sacrifice if you want her to keep sending you luck.
"McCormick Reaper" (AKA), bread plate, maker unknown, date unknown.
My wall seems to be a different color in every picture but my living room brings me so much "Victorian-inspired glass-collecting spooky girl" joy!

recent finds! EAPG Co-op No. 100 pitcher by Co-operative Flint Glass Company circa 1884-1885, aka Dahlia, and Patrician amber cookie jar (no lid) by Federal circa 1933-1937, aka Spoke. purchased for $7 and $2 respectively.
I really like old glass, and amber seems to be throwing favoring me lately 🤩 I've got several other plates and bowls to add to my collection catalog tomorrow, too.
Deep in the deep.
