if he had a watch, he’d check the time —but perhaps that’d make him more antsy. time was counted with each tick of his nail against wood, and every minute provoked a roll of his posture to shift the static pooling in his nerves. in all honesty, the wait likely wasn’t as long as ventus is making it seem with all the tension loose in his face, the anxieties maneuvering his rhythms. he’d become so lost in null and void that his ears didn’t catch the steps echoing nearby. 

awe reigned his countenance for the seconds it took to accept what was said to him. with a whip of his head and an utmost eager rise to better meet his stance, ventus’s avidity wore in balled fists and pointed brows.
